What customers say
This peaceful woodland campsite is well-kept with spotless facilities. Pitches offer privacy and ample space. Staff are friendly, the location is great for exploring Hadrian's Wall, and dog walks are plentiful. Despite minor shop stock and road noise concerns, feedback is overwhelmingly positive, with many wanting to return.

Permanent caravan and seasonal pitch park with a few touring pitches
Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Quiet and relaxed stay but wouldn't like to be there at the height of summer as it is a very large park and it has a lot of permanent and seasonal caravans as well as a number of statics
The showers and toilets are very nice and fairly new but the cleaning isn't very good
Disliked Only one Washing machine and dryer for a very large park
The dryer isn't very good and takes nearly 2 hours to dry one load
Also the laundry room is closed between 9.30 and 5pm so that's also resticting
There is a lot of stuff cluttering around permanent pitches making a really nice wooded area look a mess, with so much decking and furniture gnomes and windmills never mind the cheap fairy lights spoils the park the place needs a good tidy up

From the manager: I wouldn't say our site is very large, compared to some we are a small site.
Our Showers & toilets are checked & cleaned everyday. You were asked a few times by staff if everything was ok & you had no complaints while you were onsite.
The laundry room is open between 9.30am & 5pm, If there was a problem with the dryer did you report this to the reception? you are given an information sheet when you check-in this asks that if you encounter any problems during your stay to please report them to reception & we will do our best to rectify them.
What other customers have on their pitches doesn't affect anyone else's stay. Our gardener works hard around the site & if pitches are looking a mess our customers are asked to tidy them up.
Thank you for your review.

Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Lovely, peaceful site, set in the beautiful countryside overlooking Hexham.
The facilities were spotless & conveniently placed for Motorhome pitches.
The staff were extremely helpful.
Disliked The flow of water from the taps was extremely short, so washing hands/ dishes was really difficult.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your review, unfortunately we have had to change our system for water as in the past taps were left running resulting in water wastage and overflowing sinks,, that is why we no longer provide plugs

Liked Nice site
Disliked Asked twice if we could move to gravel pitch because of torrential rains, told they were booked! Strange how they stayed empty?

From the manager: Thank you for your review, unfortunately some people did not turn up for their booked stays but as they did not contact us beforehand we could not let out their pitches in case they did come later
Friendly welcome and a lovely site.…

Liked Friendly welcome and a lovely site. Only used for a stopover.
Disliked 2 stage sat nav instructions were a little wide of the mark. Better to provide written instructions.

Restful stay. Easy walk to Acomb and Hexham.
Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Peaceful, quiet
Disliked 6 second showers. Some of the seasonal pitches were scruffy.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your review, unfortunately we have to have push button showers now as in the past people used to leave them running
Regarding seasonal pitches we do contact owners about keeping pitches tidy when they become overgrown etc.

Very remote, peaceful, very good toilet…
Powered grass campsite
Liked Very remote, peaceful, very good toilet and shower blocks . Large site but with small areas for tourers and large areas with seasonal pitches and chalets. Very quiet when we were there and so we stayed a second night as felt comfortable . Despite bad rain The second night . Easy to reach dog walk down public footpath through site and over adjacent fields . Well organised site with clear instructions everywhere.
Disliked Others have mentioned some abruptness 9f managers but I felt they were doing their job and were very clear about what was expected of us. So no complaints
