  • Quiet pop-up farm site on the edge of the Northumberland coast
  • Alnwick 10 minutes' drive; Seahouses a quarter of an hour away
  • Set on a working arable and sheep farm; dogs on leads welcome
Gallowmoor Farm is a small, friendly pop-up farm site in the scenic county of Northumberland, close to the edge of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site is part of a working arable and sheep farm but located away from most of the agricultural activity, giving you a taste of rural life with plenty of peace and quiet. With a limited number of spacious pitches, guests here can look forward to a laidback camping experience. The pitches are separated by a tree on either side, for shade and extra privacy. Facilities are simple, but you'll have access to drinking water and basic portable toilets. Other amenities are within easy reach, though, as Gallowmoor Farm is about a mile and a half from Rennington's village pub and a 10-minute drive from the larger town of Alnwick, where supermarkets, shops and cafés are available. Gallowmoor Farm is about two miles from the A1, making it an excellent stopover for north-south road trips as well as a top pick for longer stays close to the varied attractions of the Northumberland coast. Well-behaved dogs are allowed, but out of consideration towards other guests and the livestock in neighbouring fields, please make sure that they are kept on a lead at all times.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Brilliant site which was very quiet at night. I had a great nights sleep and have not stopped in a camp site so quiet.

Lovely views across the fields, plots were huge and the site was clean and tidy and well kept.

Dog friendly and just walked him along the nearby roads which were quiet. If I had stayed longer I would have walked to the pub with him.

Disliked Train line nearby but they didn't run during the night so a peaceful nights sleep can be had.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked What a fantastic campsite! This feels like going back to how camping used to be, just a tap and a loo in a beautiful peaceful field. Loads of space between pitches, super friendly owners, and the cleanest portaloos I’ve ever seen!! Our children loved having the space to run around safely and made lots of new friends. We will definitely be back again.

Disliked Nothing!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The location was lovely, level pitches, very peaceful and Abbie was very welcoming.

Disliked Having to clean the toilet before each use. This occurred by lazy adults or unsupervised children. Either way it wasn’t pleasant!
I was not the only person within my party that had to do this.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review it is very much appreciated. We seem to have had a spate of "messy toilet goers" and I have had also had to manually flush the build up in the bowl on every visit of which I do twice if not sometimes three a day. Just takes one messy person to ruin for everyone unfortunately. I obviously apologise and I try my best to keep them as clean as a portaloo can be but I also rely on others keeping the standards high.
