  • Well-maintained dog-friendly site in the North Yorkshire countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to the North York Moors; 50 minutes to the coast
  • Access to cycling and walking routes; pub and shops nearby
Pack your walking boots, gather your cycling gear and don’t forget your binoculars for the family-friendly Cherry Tree Park. Sitting cosily between the Howardian Hills and the North York Moors, this well-maintained family-friendly site is well based for walks and cycling through moors and forests or visits to historic halls and castles nearby… simply put, the hardest task will be plotting out your route, as this level-grounded base is a peaceful walker’s paradise. If you can’t bear to leave your dog behind, it's good to know that dogs and pets are welcome on site. For walkies time, take full advantage of the local footpaths – there are several cycling and walking routes nearby (along with more adventurous tracks between the trunks at Dalby Forest, 45 minutes’ drive). And handily, the coast is also within reach. So, if you have a taste for the pleasures of seaside (within 50 minutes’ drive), you can dedicate a day to the beach and harboursides. At the end of the day, freshen up using the toilet and shower block on site (there's an extra water point on hand if you need it). For eating out, there’s a fish and chip shop, an Indian restaurant and a pub within 10 minutes’ walk. And for anything else you need, the market towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside have more amenities within five minutes’ drive.

What customers say

This well-kept, clean, spacious site has friendly owners. Guests love the peaceful vibe, level spots, and proximity to pubs & Helmsley. Toilets/showers are clean but basic. Some report noise. Busy periods mean close pitches. Great value; many want to return.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Tucked out of the way and not too far from Helmsley, you get the best of both worlds when staying at Cherry Tree Park. There's the relaxing on a spacious grass pitch and then just a stones throw away, there's the entertainment and wonder within a beautiful market town.

Cherry Tree Park proved to be an enjoyable stay. After being met by our wonderful host upon check in we quickly settled in and enjoyed the peace and quiet within our green surroundings. Amenities are fine, though you may have to wait your turn with the shower as there's only 2. After a kick about and a bit of lounging around we fancied a venture and there's the odd walking path nearby as well as a couple of pubs to whet your whistle.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Liked Very spacious pitches and ideal for where we wanted to go. Clean facilities.Nice pubs, takeaways and co-op not to far away..Bottom side has no lighting so did see shooting stars and meteorite shower.

Disliked I was expecting noise from farm animals etc around dawn but they seemed to be alot of barking and yapping dogs late and early hours in the area.

Liked I've been here 3 time's in the last 6 weeks so i guess that means it's fine. Could do with another toilet/shower block if the site is busy, but it's been ok for me. Owners and staff are welcoming and friendly. Will be going again soon.

Disliked Nothing.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Had a lovely couple of nights at this campsite. The toilets were spotless and shower facilities were great- felt like home from home. Alicia was welcoming and very helpful. It wasn’t too busy on the non electric camping part of the field, so had a relaxing stay and was great for our dog! Had no issue with signal and my phone worked fine. There is a pub about a 10 min walk away, although food wasn’t the best. I will definitely be back as had a lovely stay at the campsite, with great facilities! Thanks for having us.
