  • Peaceful single shepherd's hut at a 10-acre smallholding
  • In the Yorkshire Wolds, two miles from the coast at Bridlington
  • Ensuite bathroom, kitchen area and private garden with barbecue
There’s just the one shepherd’s hut at High Easton Farm – but you won’t be lacking in company. The folk at this 10-acre smallholding in the East Yorkshire countryside take their environmental responsibilities pretty seriously – and as a result nature is thriving here, the trees and hedges forming an excellent habitat for skylarks, barn owls, wagtails and numerous other birds. Deer, hares and hedgehogs can often be spotted around the farm as well. All of that gives you a strong hint that this is a fabulously peaceful rural location, where you can chill out in secluded surroundings for a while, looking out over the countryside views and keeping your eyes open for wildlife. There are distant sea views, too – and that’s because the coast and the seaside town of Bridlington are only about two miles away. That location means you can easily drive down to Bridlington whenever you fancy it, for some beach time or to find something to eat or drink. Other seaside spots aren’t far off either – you could also rack up trips to Filey (15 minutes’ drive), Flamborough Head (20 minutes) and Scarborough (half an hour). Back at the farm, your cosy hut is fully self contained, with an ensuite bathroom, a kitchen (with hob, kettle, toaster, air fryer and all the utensils and bits and bobs) and several USB charging sockets. You’ll sleep in a wall-bed that can be folded away during the day to create more living space. Outside, you’ll have your own garden space with a gas barbecue, a bistro set and some zero-gravity chairs to relax in.
