Local attractions

In Bridlington (10 minutes' drive) you can take a stroll on the sandy beach, take boat trips on the Yorkshire Belle and catch live performances or movies at Bridlington Spa. Just a little way north of town are Sewerby Hall & Gardens and the sweet Bondville Model Village. Heading a little further north again you’ll come to Flamborough Head and RSPB Bempton Cliffs (15 minutes), a top-notch birdwatching spot. After that, it’s up to Filey (15 minutes), which has a lovely long beach, lots of independent shops and pubs, and a fab walk out to Filey Brigg peninsula. For more coastal days, you could try Scarborough (half an hour), Robin Hood’s Bay (55 minutes) and Whitby (an hour). Heading inland, there are some lovely walks in the surrounding Yorkshire Wolds, and you can visit places like Burton Agnes Hall (15 minutes) or the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery (10 minutes).
