Golfing, going to the beach, or maybe getting out for a forest walk… it’s all going on around Gralyn's Caravan Park, a quiet little Suffolk site just outside the village of Eyke and 10 minutes’ drive from Woodbridge. From here it’s an easy amble to the trails of Rendlesham Forest, a 20-minute drive to the splendid Suffolk coast beaches at Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, and a five-minute drive/15-minute bike ride to Sutton Hoo. Other top-notch activities can be had nearby too: there are two golf courses within a 10-minute drive, fishing lakes less than five minutes away and river boat trips around 25 minutes away. Plus, of course, that most excellent of rural activities: the pub trip, which can be had at the end of a mile-long half-hour walk. Back at base, there’s a warm welcome for all who’d like to come and stay here: the site has been set up to be accessible to less mobile guests, it’s got play areas for the smaller travellers and it’s happy to have dog companions along too.

Highly recommended, friendly site. Guests rave about spotless facilities & peaceful atmosphere. Staff are incredibly helpful. Great location for exploring. Minor notes: no pavements on main road, one shower needs a sign.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Owner was friendly from the moment we were there and guided us to our pitch. Small shop sells all the essentials at great prices. We hired a fire pit at a great price and the owner entertained the kids with magic blue flames. Peaceful site. My drill ran out of battery and the owner was more than happy to lend me hers. Thankyou!

Liked Welcoming site, pre-warned by phone about a road closure, good facilities and our host was exceptionally kind. Great little site with just the right location for good sun and a tent drying breeze!

Liked What an amazing campsite! The owner was really welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. The facilities were clean and tidy at all times of the day. There was a lovely little park that was suitable for the children of different ages. This campsite was really quiet and peaceful.

Liked The people who run the site could not do enough to make our visit really enjoyable. The food freshly cooked on the site Saturday night was very nice and reasonably priced. The showers and toilets were immaculate and cleaned every day. The shop on site had plenty of options available. The evenings were very quiet and the other people there were very friendly. We would recommend it highly

Liked Found this little place , first time we tried the caravan, the owner couldn’t have been more helpful, toilets snd showers are immaculate lovely and quite spot to relax close to all amenities to would recommend to anyone

Liked The site had plenty of caravans and tents but even so a quiet site. Toilet and showers were clean. Play park for the children. Cooked breakfast and burgers available. Owner very friendly and helpful.

Get over to Rendlesham Forest (45 minutes’ walk/five minutes’ drive), where you can amble along a three-mile trail with info about the woods' intriguing past. For a further delve into history, walk the walls of sprawling Framlingham Castle (20 minutes' drive) or head to Sutton Hoo estate (five minutes), home to a seventh-century royal burial ground, an exhibition of ancient finds and a full-sized Anglo-Saxon ship sculpture. Swing by in summer and you’ll often find history themed goings-on in progress around the estate or in the open-air theatre. Also very much worth a visit are the beaches of the Suffolk coast: it’ll take around 20 minutes to drive to arty Aldeburgh, or 25 minutes to Thorpeness to hire boats to paddle around the Peter Pan-themed lake.
