  • Adults-only site on 12 acres of peaceful Suffolk farmland
  • Woodbridge 10 minutes' drive; 20 minutes to Ipswich or Sutton Hoo
  • Dogs welcome; pubs and River Deben beach within walking distance
With easy access from the A12 and A14 plus 12 acres of peaceful natural land to its name, Low Farm Campsite is an excellent spot for an easy escape in a splendid Suffolk setting. This lovely location is part of the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape, and the owners of the site are doing their bit to preserve the local landscapes by returning their farmland to nature. As part of that approach, the guest areas have been designed to site nicely in the natural setting, with plenty of space so that you’ll never feel crammed in even if the place is full. The idea here is to create peaceful, simple experiences, and with that in mind the owners have set the place up as an adults-only site with just the essential facilities – guests have access to toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a chemical disposal point. Dogs are welcome as long as they’re kept on a leash on site – the area’s footpaths and open spaces mean you shouldn’t struggle to find a place for a good walk (whether you’ve got a dog or not). You’re allowed to set up a barbecue here if you’d like to do some outdoor cookery, but there are also a couple of pubs within walking distance serving up good food for those times when you don’t feel like it. Also within easy walking distance is a river beach on the River Deben, with boat trips available. Woodbridge (10 minutes’ drive) and Ipswich (20 minutes) are also close by for shops and places to eat.

Wildlife primitive grass campsite

Liked Was a great site. Very relaxed, didn’t come with all the rules, like having to park between the posts etc. We were provided with the car park code and simply told we could park where we liked within a particular area. The facilities were lovely and clean. Will definitely return. We were able to walk to Woodbridge along quiet lanes and footpaths, there was a lovely pub within walking distance and a short drive to Sutton Hoo.

Liked Really liked this camp site. Quite big but sectioned into smaller fields. Lovely clean facilities and access to good hook up and water. For a large camp there are only two showers each per gender but we showered late so had no problem. Nice pub 20-40 mins walk depending on route taken. Paid £10 extra for late check out which was great. Dog friendly thank goodness 😅 would definitely come back again 🙂

Wildlife primitive grass campsite

Liked Lovely spacious site. Showers and toilets a good standard. Pub within walking distance

Disliked People walking their dogs in your area to go to the toilet. Yes they picked up the mess, as anyone with dogs know you cannot pick all of it up at times. Found this very disrespectful!

Powered grass campsite

Liked Very spacious site, water tap available at hook up. Clean toilets, good communication, nice location for walking to a few local pubs.

Disliked Not enough showers. Only 2 for such a large site would be problematic if the site was heavily booked, which it wasn't on our visit.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Quiet, adults only, mostly well-looked after site. Clean facilities.

Disliked Insufficient showers (only two of each for 80+ pitches)
Fruit trees dropping abundant fruit on our pitch and not cleared up. Left to rot, smelling foul andattracting hundreds of flies.
No shop or facilities.

Wildlife primitive grass campsite

Liked We stayed in the wildlife area for 2 nights. It was very spacious easy to check in. The showers were hot and toilets very clean. The site had lovely walk to the river side. We enjoyed the food in the pub and it was dog friendly 🐾 It was very peaceful and everyone had lots of room.

Disliked Nothing ! It would be handy to have some local info re walking routes we found a board on the riverside. The boat trips didn’t allow dogs which was a shame as it was beautiful weather🌞
