  • Small tourer site adjacent to a restaurant in Little Snoring, Norfolk
  • Cromer Beach 35 minutes’ drive; Sandringham Estate 25 minutes
  • Level pitches with no-frills facilities; shops five minutes’ drive
Liking the idea of a restaurant a few steps away from your tourer pitch? Your luck’s in at The Olive Tree Bistro Camp Site, found in the sweetly named Norfolk village of Little Snoring. Simply arrive, park up and decamp to the bistro fronting the pitches, and you’re all set for a relaxed meal of Mediterranean-inspired dishes and tapas sharing plates – accompanied by a decent list of wines and beers too. The bistro, closed on Mondays, is popular, so guests should book a table during busy periods. It's open between 11.45am and 8pm from Tuesday to Thursday and on Sundays; on Friday and Saturday, it's open from 11.45 am to 10pm. So, that’s food taken care of. What about the practicalities? Well, the site is a doddle to get to as it’s off the A148 between King’s Lynn and Cromer. Access is easy thanks to the width of the entrance gate, and the pitches are a mix of grass and gravel on a level field. Facilities are simple, stretching to a small toilet block with electric showers, a covered washing-up sink and drinking water on tap. On warmer days, you can eat outside at the picnic tables, and if you need more supplies of groceries, there are a couple of supermarkets in Fakenham (five minutes’ drive). The dog-lovers among you will be pleased to read that your pets are welcome on site too.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Lovely small site with the added benefit of being in the grounds of the pub. Flyovers from RAF aircraft an added bonus. Didn’t eat at the pub, but it looked good

Disliked Some night time noise from what sounded like jet engines being tested and some traffic noise as it’s on the A148 but not too annoying though

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked Everything about this camp site. It's so clean and well looked after, it's set out so thoughtfully with the funkiest toilet block ever! Amenities were clean, the bistro on site is a huge bonus serving food and drinks with a lovely courtyard, then access to a beautiful little garden with picnic tables and vintage lighting. Spacious pitches, peaceful and relaxing. One of my favourites.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked The food was ok but maybe a tad expensive. The pub garden is nice though. The site is quite nice but basically the pubs back yard with a toilet shed.

Disliked Dog friendly (sort of). Dogs are to be kept on leads at all times but there's literally nowhere to walk them even if you could. The site is ok but very small and should not be £35 a night. Its probably worth about £25 even with todays ripoff site prices as its ok but not great for that price. Toilets and shower clean but in need of modernising from the shed at £35 a night.

From the manager: I don't get understand the anonymous post when we can see who's sent the review, we feel our food prices reflect the food we serve and quality. why we ask for dogs to be kept on leads! reason, when we have so many dogs on site and when some customers ignore this rule I spend my time picking up dog shit. Yes we charge £35 for hard standing and our SHED is clearly visible on our booking platform for all to see, so no surprises when people arrive. Yet again another keyboard warrior. New customers please check out our reviews and make your judgement.

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked Very clean and friendly, good sized pitches, very easy to put pegs in. Sheltered from the wind.

Really enjoyed staying there

Disliked if the basins in the toilets were a little bit bigger teeth washing would have been easier. But as lovely site anyway.

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked It’s a small, well kept site of only 10 pitches, situated directly behind the pub restaurant, but not so that you get any noise from there. All pitches are very large, half being on just grass & half having hard standing. There’s a lovely beer garden at the start of the site, which is next to the washroom and shower facilities. There’s also a dog wash area and a long hose for re-filling.
The food is good & plentiful in the pub. Drinks are a bit pricey but there’s a good selection.
Great location for exploring North Norfolk & it’s many fabulous beaches.

Disliked Nothing at all to dislike but worth noting as others have said, that there’s nowhere close by to walk your dogs or let them off.
And no hairdryers or WiFi on site.

Local attractions

The site is well-situated for jaunts along the North Norfolk coastline. Popular beaches include Sheringham (25 minutes’ drive), good for rock pooling with the kids on its swathe of golden sand. Cromer (35 minutes) is the spot for watersports, food stalls and walks along the Victorian pier, while Salthouse Beach (25 minutes) is a dog-friendly pebbled expanse where you can sometimes spot egrets and marsh harriers. If the weather’s not looking so good, head straight for Thursford Steam Museum (five minutes), with a heady mix of gaily painted carousels, steam engines and barrel organs that should keep the kids happy for hours. When the clouds disappear again, you can get rid of any pent-up energy go-karting through woodland, tree climbing and completing obstacle courses at ExTREEme Adventure (20 minutes). If you fancy a bet, Fakenham Racecourse (10 minutes) has meetings all year round. And as horse racing is the sport of kings, perhaps you’d like to see how our present monarch lives? Take a trip to Sandringham Estate (25 minutes) to tour sumptuous apartments in the stately royal residence, and have a wander through parkland designed by Geoffrey Jellicoe in the 1940s.
