  • Adults-only campsite with spectacular Staffordshire moorland views
  • Alton Towers and the Peak District National Park 15 minutes’ drive
  • Fresh eggs available; logs and barbecues provided for a small cost
Ready for weekend breaks and nights under the stars on an adults-only Staffordshire hideaway? Staying at Tyre Farm sees you 15 minutes’ drive from Alton Towers and the Peak District National Park; wherever you find yourself on site there are spectacular views across open countryside to wild moorland and the landmark Winkhill. Logs and disposable barbecues are available for a small cost on request. Breakfast is sorted as you can fry up freshly laid eggs straight from the farm chickens. Pick up other foodie bits and pieces from the supermarkets in Leek (15 minutes), or head to pubs and restaurants if outdoor cooking isn’t your forté; there are quite a few options within 20 minutes of the site. As the pitches are on a working smallholding, dogs should be kept on leads.

Rudyard primitive cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked Our pitch was named the Rudyard which was a level gravel and grass pitch which was a nice big space for our campervan and awning. The site is small which we liked and each pitch had enough space for privacy and surrounded by green fields with sheep and cows for neighbours.

The reception room offers lots of information as well as fresh eggs and snack to purchase and the hosts although we did not see them gave excellent instructions via text message and were quick to respond to questions, very friendly and informative.

The bathroom with shower, toilet and sink basin was immaculate, nice hot shower and spotlessly clean, and with the site only being small we never queued.

There is a lovely walk from the site which is shown on a picture in reception is just shy of 6 miles, it’s an easy walk and takes in 3 lovely pubs each different in character but all offered a nice cold drink which was a welcome on a hot July day.

Would we go back? Most definitely. We stayed as we were off to Alton Towers the next day which is only a 15 minute drive away but we will be back just for a weekend of peace and relaxation.

From the manager: Thankyou for your lovely review, it’s great to hear you enjoyed our little site, hope you come back again soon.

Manifold primitive gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked We loved the charm of Tyre farm, we stayed on the Manifold pitch which was ideal for the weekend, it was very hot and had some trees and a lovely little apple tree orchard flanking the pitch which provided a welcome bit of shade at times without obscuring the beautiful views. It was also next to a chicken coup and close to some lovely little billy goats, being a small working farm it was lovely to sit and relax and listen to all the different animal sounds around us but very peaceful overnight. All the facilities were very close and were a very high standard, the owners were very welcoming and looked after us well. I would 100% recommend this lovely little site and we will definitely visit again.

Manifold primitive gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked The pitches are along the side of a long drive up to a farmhouse with fields opposite. They are spacious and the site is on an active farm, quiet and surrounded with lovely views of the lambs and other animals.

The reception has a clean toilet/shower, washing up facilities as well as DVDs that can be borrowed. The staff are friendly and everything from booking to leaving was flawless.
