What customers say
Crossgate Farm Campsite gets kudos for gorgeous views, friendly staff, and a cafe/bar. Guests loved the animals (especially goats!) & its great location for walks. Facilities are mostly clean/new, but some found portaloos problematic and noted a lack of dishwashing areas. While hilly, with some sloped spots, many recommend the site and would revisit.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked Warm welcome from hosts.
Dog friendly site. Lots of room to pitch up.
Disliked We moved to the bottom of the field as there where less people down there but it was quiet a slope.
There was a wedding on, on the Saturday, which meant you couldn’t really use the bar and was a bit noisy in the evening.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked Such lovely people, greeted on arrival and shown where abouts everything is. Toilets/ showers are absolutely immaculate for a camp site and it is possible to buy drinks from in the cafe if needed. Not to far away from shops/ petrol stations.
Disliked Cafe could open a little earlier in the morning however not a major issue.

Liked We had a fantastic stay at this scenic campsite! The views from our pitch were beautiful, and it was a perfect base for hiking in the area. The shower and toilet facilities were clean and well maintained, which made the stay even more comfortable. Our kids absolutely loved feeding the friendly goats — such a lovely touch for families. It’s also really convenient being so close to shops, so we could easily pick up anything we needed. Highly recommend for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!
Disliked You need to bring your fire pit, the bench table needs some attention

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely campsite, absolutely stunning views, nice clean toilets, the site is on a bit of a slope but there are lots of flat areas. We hired a fire pit with wood for £10 and a £20 deposit which was a welcome addition to a bit of a damp weekend, the cafe on site was lovely food as well, all the team we spoke to were lovely and friendly too
Disliked Not so much a dislike but worth noting, There were events on at the bar both nights we were there which went past the 10pm curfew you could hear it at our pitch, it didn't bother us, but I can't comment on how strictly the 10pm rule is enforced if these events weren't on. Also be aware there is quite a slope up to the toilet block from the pitches
