  • Family park one mile from Dawlish Warren beach
  • A 35-minute drive from Torquay; pubs within walking distance
  • Indoor swimming pool, adventure playground, soft play, gym and sauna
Staying just a mile away from Dawlish Warren beach sounds pretty neat, doesn't it? Lady’s Mile Holiday has a splendid location on the Devon coast, and what's more, it also has a reel of very tempting facilities… For one, there is a splendid indoor swimming pool for a morning of backstroke or splashing around. During high season, an additional outdoor swimming pool opens up for open-air dips (as long as the weather is good enough). After a nice swim, guests can stay well-fed and well-watered at the on-site restaurant and bar. There are plenty of ways to keep the kids entertained around the park too, from an adventure playground and soft play to the evening entertainment that takes place from March to November. There's a gym on site if you fancy keeping up your workout streak. Otherwise, you're very welcome to laze by the pool or in the sauna instead. For quick dinners, the site has a takeaway. As for other facilities, there are also showers and bathrooms, including a parent and baby washroom. Looking for local eats? There are pubs within a mile's wander of the site, which might prove to be the motivation you need to get off the oh-so-splendid grounds...

What customers say

A big, tidy park with plenty of room on the sites and excellent, clean amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools. Reviewers loved the friendly staff, heaps of entertainment for everyone, and its good spot for exploring. Most feedback's great, but a few noted occasional noise, busy times, and a bit of outdated gear.

Liked Swimming was included with good life guards. The sauna was nice but soundproofing would have helped. The live guitar player at the markee was good. And the price of drinks was very reasonable on site.

Cleaners of the family bathrooms and showers was lovely they do a good job. And the washing up area is good.

Pre booking for swimming was always working and you could book easily on the day and usually always get a place. Our son loved the slides.

The sky is amazing at night for stargazing

Disliked Where to start. It was our 1st time visiting Devon newly married and hoping for a wonderful holiday. We usually go to Cornwall and with having a 5 month old baby we thought Devon was a tad closer. The weather cant be helped and we just got unlucky with a very bad week of rain. However having someone moony in our camp and expose themselves when we were having a private family bbq under our canopy was one of the many problems we had with this place. Thankfully our children aged 15, 10 and 5 months had their backs to the sick individual that did this but again the staff nor security could do anything to solve this for the only description we had was of dark clothes and a ass hole as it happened at 9:30pm. Had it not been a 5 hour drive home we would have left that night. Reception were nice but refused any sort of refund or complimentary gift to ease the upset it caused us. I wanted a refund from the day it happened and rhey point blank regused. My husband works in security and stayed up all night to keep watch outside out tent incase the T**t that exposed himself to children returned. Again police wouldn't do anything without a description and how can you give one of ones anus and after they ran off. For a holiday park full of families this is a sick prank and shows the callobrough of people that may have been there.

The park had 3 thousand people on site plus dogs. We love dogs and own 2x but left ours at home with family. And dogs were everywhere even on tables in the club house actually sat on the tables one night (I do hope staff cleaned these before people ate breakfast the next day).

Bingo, well if you didn't get there more than 2 hours early you were not getting a seat they have massively over accommodated and there is just not enough room. I paid £22 by accident for 2 bingo books and not £12 and I was not refunded despite them having CCTV and conveniently it didn't cover the bingo stand where money was exchanged. The manager that night was lovely about it but basically nothing was refunded or offered.

The night time entertainment was so loud and defaning if you have any SEN needs or wish to keep your ear drums in general then I suggest ear defenders. Our baby and 10 year old were unable to stay at the kids entertainment for that reason. We went to local pubs and restaurants instead. The Ness is gorgeous Pub and so is Sticky Rice a good Thai, if you are looking for food in the area. We would also reccomend Exmoor Zoo and Quince Honey Farm.

There is also no public footpath for families just a very long up hill road that leads to all camp sites. So basically cars are dodging the kids and drunk adults and dogs constantly. How there is never a fatality is beyond me. I do think this is a potential helath and saftey issue.

Security did rounds telling us off for having a fire in our bbq barrel that is off the ground. We respectfully put it out. However others were having fires every night. It felt like a real unbalanced lack of continuity throughout the park.

The sauna is a nice touch but its not the cleanest and you must listen to a lit of screaming children whilst you try and relax. Sound proofing this would be a good idea and the steam room was out of order also.the changing rooms ajd family rooms for the indoor pool are just nit big enough again for the capacity. Prams wheeling in everywhere as there's no space, the hygiene cant be the best with that happening.

We did pottery painting and there was no instructions given on when to collect your items etc and we had paid extra for the painting. Sadly we then forgot them with all the stress of the disastrous Devon holiday. Thankfully I can say they have promised to post them out free of charge. As if yet we are to recieve them so we will see if they keep their word.

Overall we will not be back.

Liked Spacious area, friendly receptionist, easy access to toilets ,sink and water

Disliked Some campers around quite rude and been nosing around especially if we're having fun like laughing, giggling and having sounds , we're having fun up to around 10pm then we stopped, but we believed we've been reported as security were rushing to our tent the second night of our stay . That next camper been reading books all.the time ,he should go to library instead going to camping if he only read books and envy us having fun..reason we have group camping to unwind from our stressful job and have a laugh and de stress. Not something we like to fancy going back same campsite.

From the manager: Thank you, Ariston for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found the area spacious, our Reception team friendly 😊, and that access to toilets, sinks, and water was convenient 🚿💧.

We’re very sorry that your stay was affected by interactions with other campers. We understand how important it is to relax and enjoy time with friends, and we take all guest concerns seriously. Our security and management team work to ensure everyone can enjoy the park safely and respectfully.

We appreciate your feedback and will continue to review how we manage guest interactions to improve everyone’s experience.

Liked A great park if you want lots to keep your child entertained. Four areas to pitch to choose from, no allocation, id recommend driving around before making your choice. We pitched near the facilities and park which in hindsight probably wasn’t the best place.

Pools were great, we used both and the booking system was fine even with the site at capacity. My daughter loved the park and the pump track. The kids entertainment was really good too with both free and paid for activities. The entertainment team are brilliant; special shout out to Perry and Jordan.

WiFi is paid for outside of the entertainment venue and it’s a bit hit and miss. The free WiFi in the entertainment venue was good until it got busy and then did not work at all.

Cash machine on site didn’t work at all and couldn’t get cash back from the bar or shop. The sainsburys up the road also ran out of cash from their cash machine.

Toilets and showers always clean and well attended. The showers were very hot, too hot for my daughter so she field washed!

Shop on site is well stocked and reasonably priced, the takeaway chip shop is lovely too.

Disliked The quiet hours are allegedly 11-8 however all nights we were there people were extremely noisy way past midnight and from about 5.30/6am. Not sure if people just don’t realise how loud they are being or if they are just inconsiderate.

Kids everywhere, literally everywhere! No parents keeping an eye. Screaming, shouting, swearing and this goes on past 11pm. They are up and down the roads on bikes, scooters, e-bikes, electric scooters being extremely dangerous, especially at night when it’s pitch black. People regularly tripped over our guys, even though we added lights to them!

The food in the entertainment venue is overpriced and not great quality; often overcooked and microwaved.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback Vicki. We’re delighted to hear that your daughter enjoyed the pools 🏊‍♀️, pump track 🚴‍♀️, and the kids’ entertainment 🎭, and that you found our team — especially Perry and Jordan — brilliant. It’s also great to know that the toilets, showers 🚿, shop 🛒, and takeaway chip shop 🍟 met your expectations.

We appreciate your constructive comments regarding WiFi connectivity 📶, the on-site cash machine 💳, and the food in the entertainment venue 🍴.

We’re very sorry that noise and safety concerns from other guests affected your stay. We take feedback about quiet hours and on-site safety seriously, and will continue to reinforce our policies to ensure all guests can enjoy a safe and relaxing environment.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts — your feedback helps us make Lady’s Mile better for everyone. We hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Liked The kids loved it, which meant we were happy too! The swimming pools were great, I was unsure at first about booking slots but it actually worked fine and always managed a slot and I guess they do this to keep everyone safe as such a big site.
You can walk to the beach which was really nice which had a beach, a funfair, go karts and plenty of shops/ice cream places etc! We walked down a couple of times during our stay.
We enjoyed sitting at the marquee bar at night time where there were often singers on and we took part in a silent disco one night which was brilliant!
The kids loved the clubhouse, arcades, soft play & pool! It was busy most nights and a lot of people about but you expect that on such a large site.
Teignmouth wasn’t too far which was also lovely and we drove to there on two occasions and spent the day there. Plenty to do on a sunny day!
We had a 6, 11, 13 and 15 year old and felt it was good for everyone and a good mix of activities to suit all age groups!

Disliked The bathrooms need some upgrading, they were clean and the cleaners were always in there but the showers were just not very powerful and had to keep pushing a button to keep them on. When you’re camping in a tent, a good shower block is a must.

Lady’s Mile is a site for the sea and sand fans, as it’s only a mile from two beaches where you can surf, swim, sail or just unwind. Golf, fishing, horse riding and tennis are all nearby, or you could indulge in a spot of culture and wander around the nearby National Trust properties A la Ronde (35 minutes' drive) and Compton Castle (35 minutes). Want something a little more likely to appeal to the kids? Pack them in the car and take them off to Crealy Great Adventure Park (25 minutes), where they can go gaga on the rides or go wild in the indoor jungle. They might also enjoy seeing the famous black swans along the River Dawlish, bumping along on the seafront railway, or just sticking close to the beach resort with its pirate-themed mini golf, go-karting, amusements and rides.
