  • Well-maintained site with excellent facilities
  • A few miles from the Norfolk coast
  • Sixteen luxury bathrooms on site with individual showers and loos
Have you ever been to the Norfolk coast? Pine-ing to return or to see it for the first time? Come and stay at Pine Cones Caravan and Camping, near King's Lynn inland and Heacham and Hunstanton on the coastline – this is such a royally good region that King Charles and his cohorts have a pad at Sandringham just a mile away. If the king were camping, it's a fairly safe bet he would like the up to date and excellently kept amenities at Pine Cones too: 16 warm luxury bathrooms, all with their own shower, toilets, basin and storage racks; a roomy, indoors washing-up area with several sinks and plenty of drainer space; and a washing machine and dryer in a separate room to sort out the laundry. Once the essentials are sorted, send the kids off to the adventure playground to try out the treehouse, rope ladders and high level walkway, and settle down in the picnic area with coffee and eats… there's a coffee machine on site and the well-stocked shop sells a good selection of items including bread, milk, and fresh and frozen food. A selection of outdoor gym equipment is also available for the energetic holidaymaker. Off site, Pine Cones is about a mile from the nearest pub the Feathers, or trot off to award-winning the Coach and Horses. Both are in nearby Dersingham village, where there's also a supermarket, takeaway and coffee shop dishing up homemade cakes daily.

What customers say

Spacious, level pitches, friendly vibe, and super-clean bathrooms. Great base for Norfolk coast. Helpful staff. Some road noise noted, would like more doggy areas. Top spot for a chill break.

Sandy Acres powered grass and sand site (small)

Liked A very beautiful and well maintained place. Everything clean and well thought through. Super nice and clean bathrooms. Rental bikes. A cafè/bar with friendly staff, cafe, snacks and 3 beers on tap.
Would definetly come back and recommend

Disliked I booked a spot for 1 small tent. I got allotted a huge spot with very uneven, hard and slanted floor full of gravel. Probably meant for a mobile home or van.
I would have preferred a smaller one with softer and straighter floor but there was no one at the reception all day to arrange a swap.

Sandy Acres powered grass and sand site (small)

Liked This was my first ever time camping and I loved it!
The size of the pitch was plenty big enough for 2 cars plus a 5 man tent.
It’s a really nice, small camp site, with everything you need.
It’s not too far to walk to toilets or reception. Everywhere looked clean and tidy. Staff were nice and helpful.
I really liked the maps of the walk routes that they had at reception, we used 2 of these maps.

Disliked The smell in the toilet/bathrooms!! although I loved that they were full bathrooms, with each individual cubical having a shower, toilet and sink, the first block of toilets, closet to sunny acres, where really quite smelly!! Clean but smelly.
Bens Bar didn’t seem to be open much, and they only offered food Wednesday , Friday and Saturday nights which were themed nights, eg Saturday was pizza night so you could only order pizza.
Maybe only other down side would be the road noise if I was being picky!

Pine Views fully-serviced concrete and grass site

Liked We had a pines view fully serviced hard standing, which by the photos we believed we had a covered seating area included, we didn’t, we got two wooded seats. The pitches are spacious, level gravel pitches which made setting up straightforward. The site had a good atmosphere and plenty of information available on local walks and food options, even though we didn’t make use of these during our stay. A well-organised site overall.

Disliked The middle shower block gets very busy and can become dirty quite quickly—it would be helpful to have some toilets separate from the showers. The facilities near reception were quieter and cleaner. Road noise was also noticeable at times.
Would be nice to be able to choice a pitch with or without the covered seating area.

Sandy Acres powered grass and sand site (small)

Liked We love everything about this site and just enjoyed our fifth stay!
It's easy to find, easy to pitch. Excellent facilities, always clean. Bar on site, food on site. Friendly staff team. Kids love the play area. We love the walk into Dersingham and up to Sandringham. The beaches of Snettisham and Hunstanton are a short drive away.
Park Run at Sandringham is quick to get to. Ten minutes drive away from Ffolkes in Hillington for an excellent, bottomless brunch.
I'm sure we will be back again as we love this part of Norfolk.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Pine Views camping pod

Liked Thankyou so much for our stay with you guys the last 2 nights. The kids and I have had a wonderful time. The site is lovely, so picturesque and peaceful, the perfect base for our adventures out and about. My 6 year old love the dear and bird hide just outside our pod and often ran over to see the many animals in the field next door.

The lady who checked us in was so polite and helpful.

The shower blocks were clean and a good size, which was helpful when my 2 lovebugs and I go everywhere together.

Thankyou again, we will be back

Sandy Acres powered grass and sand site (small)

Liked Toilet facilities were nice with the toilet and shower in one cubicle but there wasn’t a pleasant smell a lot of the time so not sure how often they were cleaned? Could do with being aired off better?

Nice to have a bar on site and a well stocked reception just a shame it wasn’t open much. Could offer coffees etc in the mornings?

Cool to see some white deer in the next field!

Disliked Our first night - Sat - we had a tent near us cackling and shouting until well past midnight - even though we were told 10.45 was quiet time. There was no sign of anyone policing it and the adult group had been doing this from early evening. We had to ask them ourselves to be quiet for our children at 12.30.

Two nights later our own children were having a giggle and playing badminton at 9pm and someone with a high vis came and told them to shush! Seemed very inconsistent.

We seemed quite packed in and it was a shame to not be allowed ball games and no ability to have a fire pit etc which was very different from what we have experienced before.

Local attractions

Beaches, historic houses, museums and festivals, tiny villages, market towns and fab family days out are all easily accessible from Pine Cones Caravan and Camping – after a day at Sandringham, but of course, to wave at the king first... Within a couple of miles, the deer safaris, farming activities and walking trails of Snettisham Deer Park and the sights and smells of Norfolk Lavender are both good options for a day out; Snettisham has an RSPB reserve too for those itching to twitch. But as you're probably in west/north Norfolk for the beaches, head to Heacham, Holkham and Hunstanton first, the closest sands to Pine Cones, and then take a trip to Brancaster 11 miles away; the family-friendly and very scenic sands of Sheringham, Cromer and Mundsley are a little further along the coast. (Also, the final scenes of Shakespeare in Love were filmed at Holkham, and all the beaches in these parts are fairly filmworthy, so bring your camera.) Other excellent options for days out include village hopping and shopping among the scenic sights of Dersingham, Holt, Fakenham, Aylsham and Burnham Market to pick up some local produce, or going along to one of Norfolk's festivals or events: there's usually something going on throughout the year. Pine Cones is also on the edge the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – bring walking boots, crabbing nets and plenty of room for picnics.
