  • Dog-friendly site eight kilometres from the centre of Toulouse
  • A five-minute walk from the Lac de Sesquières for watersports
  • Pétanque court, playground and ping pong table on site; by a bus stop
Whether it’s strolls along the Canal du Midi or a pitstop tour around the city sights, a break at Camping Toulouse Le Rupé is a great base to tap into Toulouse’s historical centre. Eight kilometres from the centre of Toulouse, this dog-friendly site in Haute-Garonne has a bus stop five minutes’ walk away that will get you to the city centre in under 20 minutes… and once there, you’ll have the pick of unwinding under the willows at the Prairie des Filtres or browsing museums and other historical sites. But first, watersports… this site is 450 metres from the shore of Lac de Sesquières, where wakeboarding, waterskiing, kneeboarding and paddleboarding are all on the menu. A 10-minute drive away, the Canal du Midi has more waterside scenery – so board a boat or get to cycling or walking along the canalside. When the hunger pangs hit, there are plenty of places to eat out around Toulouse (some of these are within walking distance of the site). There are shops a short walk away too, handy for those of you who want some specifics for a barbecue back on site. With a pétanque court, ping pong table and children’s playground on site, it’s likely you’ll all have a good appetite. For other facilities that will help you navigate your time in the Midi-Pyrénées region, there’s wifi on site to get ahead on plotting out your next thing to do and a laundry room for those dirty clothes you might have piled up.

What customers say

Great base for Toulouse! Enjoy cycling the Canal du Midi. Spacious sites, friendly staff. Watch for club noise & upkeep. Facilities are hit-or-miss (hot water/loo roll issues noted). Tricky entrance.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Large pitch

Disliked Pitch was booked as a grassy pitch , it was cobbles so couldn’t put up awning. There were no grass pitches. The site is in an industrial part of Toulouse, not a great area

Liked Pitch size good but quite uneven.
Bread ordering was excellent, they were still hot when we collected.
Lots of local info given to us on arrival.
Overall I’d say OK, but probably wouldn’t return just on location.

Disliked I personally wasn’t keen on shower/toilet block, husband thought it was OK. Showers looked like they needed a good clean, floors were very dirty.
We booked for 3 nights but only stayed one (we changed our plans)
Location not great, very industrial area, but ok once you were inside the park.
Gates and the turn in were a bit right with a big motorhome, caused a few issues with local traffic if you were waiting to go in.

Liked Easy check in.
Accommodating as we ended up arriving a day late.
Friendly staff.
Good location to get into Toulouse city.

Disliked Very loud, close to busy roads.
Most of the showers you had to constantly keep the button held, it was awkward to have a proper shower.

Liked Lovely site. Very chilled. Good amount of space, didn't feel on top of one another. Good cleaning and shower facilities. Helpful staff who managed to find us some Pastries even though we hadn't ordered the night before (top tip to do so!)

Liked The guy in reception was great very helpful.

The shower/ toilets were ok fairly clean and we ate at the on-site Resturant which was good.

Disliked No management on site after a certain time so no control on guests who are very loud and noisy. Had a group staying in one of the cabins behind our motorhome they we shouting music was very loud from 10pm until 3am - at 1am they fire up the communal bbq - waking everyone up the music continued until 5am !!!

We got a refund after complaining the following morning.left a day early.

A lot of other people also complained! There were a lot of unhappy people the next morning!

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The trees for shade as it was very hot. The site has a fair number of poor reviews which may be relevant during a winter stay but a bit harsh during the warmer months. The site is hard working but as city sites go is alright. The walk to a bus into town is probably a bit longer than stated especially on a hot day but easy access to the Canal de Midi is a real plus for cyclists

Disliked The entrance gates which are difficult especially when towing.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The pleasant young man at reception .

Disliked Everything else. The muddy waterlogged pitch, the badly maintained grounds, lukewarm water for washing up, the loud music from the nearby nightclub which continued until 2 am. The site was not easy to find as it is guarded by a large industrial type gate which you need a code to open. This makes entry difficult as the road outside is not suitable for parking. Also the access road is narrow and steep in places.

Local attractions

Touring Toulouse isn’t tricky from this site on the edge of the city… and there are a few places you’ll want to pay a visit to. To see the town hall and theatre, there’s the grand Capitole de Toulouse (25 minutes’ drive) and for crazily cool displays about space and everything extra-terrestrial, the Cité de l'Espace (15 minutes) is a treat. Riverfront relaxation too? There are promenades all along the river Garonne ready for some unwinding. Hoping for a lot of historical sites? That's a breeze here too… perhaps see the crypts and relics in the Basilique Saint-Sernin de Toulouse (20 minutes) along the Way of St James, a UNESCO World Heritage site, or look into the church at the Couvent des Jacobins (25 minutes). For museums, there are natural history exhibitions at the Muséum de Toulouse (25 minutes) or fine art in the Musée des Augustins (25 minutes). For activities that will truly put your skills to the test, you could begin with paintballing or treetop obstacle courses at Natura Game (20 minutes) and finish with sorting your way through the riddles around the Merville Labyrinth (20 minutes), a maze in the grounds of an 18th-century castle.
