  • Family-friendly park 10 minutes' drive from Newquay
  • Covering 56 acres including a dedicated dog area
  • Pool, play zones, clubhouse and fish and chip takeaway
There’ll be plenty of time for monkey business in this family-friendly site… Surrounded by a whopping 56 acres of countryside and a fab place for taking toddlers, Monkey Tree Holiday Park is 10 minutes from Perranporth and its huge open beach, as well as the lively surf centre of Newquay. As you might already (luckily) know, the north coast of Cornwall is tiptop for beaches – Newquay's famed for its world-class waves and heady nightlife, while Perranporth has kayaking and hovercrafting to get adventurously stuck into, and top-notch coastal walks on either side of the beach. Back at base, catch a few pages of your book while the kids splash about in the outdoor heated pool complex… or while they join in with the packed entertainment schedule for juniors (there's a talented in-house entertainment team on hand with a daily kids' club and Funky Monkey putting in a regular appearance). On top of that, a maze of net walkways, slides and ball pools means that younger guests will have plenty to keep them entertained, whatever the weather. Food's sorted with the on-site clubhouse and restaurant, and fish and chip takeaway (fish and chips + seaside = essential). Or fire up the barbecue instead: hit up the camp store for the essentials, or head to the grocery store 10 minutes away.

Liked Really enjoyed our time here, great facilities from showers on site and the swimming pool was fantastic too, great happy staff and entertainment.

Disliked Food on site is pricey, and 9pm entertainment room gets full quickly and not enough tables.

Liked We was mislead by the original booking with pitch up regarding our dogs .. and we didn’t look through the detail of the terms and conditions so couldn’t really do anything all together as someone had to be with the doggies all the time as couldn’t leave them . So was ok but nothing what we expected and did leave a day earlier .

Liked Perfect pitch a lot bigger than we have had before. As always the campsite was very clean and tidy and brilliant staff. 1 pint of pimms for £7 excellent price drank a lot of it

Disliked The fact the police had to be called to come and arrest someone staying at the camp not to.far from out pitch.

Liked Monkey Tree was a lovely holiday park and we are glad we visited.
Beth who works in reception was exceptionally helpful and amazing and we could not rate her enough!!
Facilities were clean and the cleaning staff were really friendly!
We were very happy with our spacious pitch!!

Disliked The only thing I would say is that outdoor entertainment - we would have liked to play bingo one night whilst we were there but we could never get a table as they were already all taken. There is not really enough tables for the amount of guests they have staying.

Liked How strict they were for letting people in and out m pitches not a bad size.

Close to local beaches. Shop is well stocked .

Disliked Where do I start
Toilets and showers ridiculous small in comparison to the amount of pitches . 2 toilets with 3 showers in 1 block is a ridiculous set up. Not to mention the water going off mid shampoo.

The waste and water set up poor

I have dogs but did not appreciate all the loose dogs over the week that we stayed. Needs to be stricter ruling in place.

Very limited information around the site. Ie where waste goes and water options.

Pitch was awkward and unmarked on arrival. Very poor organisation. Didn't consider other ppl needing to get in.

Reception give you one map the rest is via Qr code but no Internet access to gain any information.

Sand pit area smelled of urine. Play area full of wasps.

Bar area using disposable cups Very outdated . Reusable should be used. Completely understand why glass cannot be used but a reusable should be used in this day in age.

Entertainment poor and not enough seating for every one.

The extra charge for the bouncy castle at £4 for 5 mins with the person taking the money bringing her child to work just un ethical. Along side it being in the play area. The cost for golf on top madness.

Pool looks better than it actually is.

Speed driving around camp also not enforced despite all the security.

Liked The staff, reception girls were friendly and welcoming. Customer service skills were amazing. The staff in the shop, Jo matter what time of the day it was - first thing or late at night the service was brilliant.

The pitches. Clean tidy well spaced. The pool itself was beautiful

Disliked Firstly, my friend wanted to add on to MY booking and had to pay £20 joining fee. Not a problem for the extra admin, however I was even charged a £20 joining fee also. Was a bit annoying as I was quite happy camping on my own. Why would I be charged for a choice SHE made.

The sheer mass of people. We couldn’t get a seat from 4pm onwards for any evening t entertainment, you need to reduce the table sizes so you can fit more in, or make the spaces bigger to fit the capacity you allow to book.

A noise switch off time is needed, we were situated on a pitch near the toilets (great no issue) however people were still playing music at 2am and was told because we were by the toilets it was expected.

More showers and toilets. The Que for the shower on the morning was 45 minutes. That is not acceptable

Local attractions

Cornwall’s coastline and beaches are pretty much legendary, but Newquay (10 minutes) is world-famed for its surf and nightlife too. It’s a party town from daybreak until well after dark and the surf's so good they hold international competitions here – check out Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay. Perranporth (10 minutes) is the place to head for a more relaxed beach day, though it’s very popular so best to get your towel down early. The beach here is a fab spot for dog walking, rolling up the trousers for a paddle or lazing around and copping a look at the views. The Eden Project (35 minutes) has the UK’s most realistic rainforest, full of rare plant species and exotic butterflies, as well as a pretty nifty Mediterranean biome. Daredevils can also have a go on England’s longest zipwires – or head over to Flambards in Helston (45 minutes) for flumes, rollercoasters and go karting.
