  • Spacious family-friendly resort close to Cornwall’s northern coast
  • A 15-minute drive from Newquay’s Watergate Bay and Fistral beach
  • Pools, pub, café, activities, playground and gym
Bag your family a break near swimming coves and surfing waves on Cornwall’s north coast with a stay at Atlantic Reach Resort, a site set 15 minutes' drive away from Newquay’s Watergate Bay, Fistral Beach and Lusty Glaze Beach. This niftily located park is also close to the main A30 road for touring the area’s kid-friendly attractions, like the Screech Owl Sanctuary and the Lappa Valley steam railway (10 minutes' drive), and is chock-full of facilities to keep the kids busy (like splashing in the indoor and outdoor pools). Got any get-up-and-go left after chasing small guests around the playground for hours on end? Stroll over to the modern gym and sign up for one of the 80 classes running per week. There are extra activities that guests can book on site during their stay, like segway adventures, laser tag games and, in the summer months, a huge slip and slide ride. If just reading about all these activities has you wanting to dive under the duvet, not to worry – the site is designed for chillouts too with spacious, open grounds to rest in the open air, a café serving barista-brewed coffee for a calming morning cuppa and a pub selling food as well as drinks for relaxed family meals.

A spacious, well-equipped campground with friendly staff and family activities like pools and playgrounds. Pitches are generally roomy and clean. However, some reviews note dated or poorly maintained facilities, especially showers, and occasional noise. Pool bookings can be tricky.

Liked Both pools were great. Kids had lots of fun in them.
Clean showers and washing up areas.
Friendly staff.

Disliked No toilet within easy access when at the outdoor pool (if the restaurant is closed)
Some of the pitches are a bit sloped. Had to pay for Wi-Fi. The restaurant/bar was expensive for drinks £8.40 for two lemonades.

Liked Taken to our pitch and explained about the size of the pitch etc

Excellent size pitches with electric point and drinking water very close by.

Toilets and showers were clean and tidy.

They laundry facilities behind the toilet block and washing up facilities

Heated indoor pool. Book early it fills up quickly. There is an outdoor pool but I heard it was very cold.

Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a pub onsite and entertainment.

Local co-op is very close with parking and other supermarkets nearby.

Disliked The only thing I can say is read the literature they give you. We had only seen the hut that sells ice cream drinks etc and the office but didn't realise there is a shop on-site until we looked at the literature.
I would suggest they give you a list of key points on this huge site.
Other than that everything was really good.

Liked The resort has plenty to keep you entertained and has great facilities.

Disliked Not being able to get onto pitch until mid afternoon and outdoor pool was definitely not heated to 31 deg!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the location and our range of facilities. As you arrived in the morning, our camping check-in time of 3 pm meant your pitch was available later in the day once it was prepared for you. Just to clarify, our indoor pool is heated to around 31°C, while our outdoor pool is not heated and is not advertised as such. We hope you and your family still enjoyed your time with us and we look forward to welcoming you back again.

Liked Very friendly welcome. Loved Ben who showed me to my site!

Disliked Toilets were covered in litter (paper and panty pad strips).
At 6:30 am there was no toilet paper.
Main gate locked at 9:30! This means you have to drive around the site through ‘no entry’ signs so it doesn’t actually make the site secure just tricky!
Also - not a problem for me but could have been for others - tent/ caravan opposite had 3 dogs off lead…ran up an down late eve and early morning barking…

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback and for mentioning the warm welcome from our team, we’ll pass your kind words to Ben. We’re very sorry for the issues you experienced with the toilets and security of the site. Your comments regarding litter, toilet paper, and gate access have been shared with our maintenance and directors so we can improve. We also remind guests that dogs should be kept on leads and that noise policies are in place to ensure everyone’s comfort. We appreciate you bringing these points to our attention and hope to provide a smoother experience in the future.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite (large)

Liked It was a nice quiet campsite with lots to do there. The pools were very good for the kids especially the outdoor pool in the lovely weather we had. The on site pub was decent too nice food with daily specials and good atmosphere. The Segway experience was very good and we all really enjoyed that. The brownies and the milkshakes in the leisure centre were extremely nice.

Disliked The shop wasn’t very stocked and doesn’t sell alcohol but there’s a co op 3 minute drive away the shower blocks we were using are dated (Fistral) they could do with a revamp but when we looked at the others on site they were much nicer I read reviews about poor water pressure and cold showers but I didn’t experience any of that. The outdoor pool isn’t manned so some people are staying over there designated time slot making it difficult to get a nice sun lounger in the sun as the top half starts to get shade from 1pm

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite (large)

Liked Good size pitches, great site, it was good experience down here. First time camping here, the kids loved it. Even had to move our tent and gazebo a metre over. But fair play to the staff they came and shifted everything over with me. Toilet and showers where always clean.

Disliked Not much to dislike really.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience with us! We’re thrilled to hear you and your family enjoyed your first camping trip here and that the kids had a great time too. Our team will be happy to know their tent-moving teamwork made a difference!

Liked Very big pitch, leisure facilities were excellent, we swam three times in our two night stay. Played mini golf and visited the play areas. Staff friendly and helpful. Very quiet at night. Toilets and showers clean and useful family wash room.

Disliked Washing up area, a couple of sinks were regularly blocked.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted you had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the spacious pitch, leisure facilities, and family-friendly amenities. We appreciate your note about the washing-up sinks and will share it with our team to ensure they’re kept clear. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

Local attractions

Look to the local area for animal attractions: the Screech Owl Sanctuary (10 minutes' drive) invites visitors to see all sorts of birds being rehabilitated. There are also creatures to pet at the Camel Creek Family Adventure Park (15 minutes) – plus rides and a 5D cinema – and underwater specimens to gaze at in Newquay’s Blue Reef Aquarium (20 minutes). While you’re here, it would be remiss not to veer towards some of the finest surfing beaches in Cornwall: head to Watergate Bay and Fistral beach (15 minutes) with a board in tow to channel your inner Californian or just bring the kids for some sandcastle-building and paddling sessions. Nippers generally also appreciate rides on the Lappa Valley steam railway, starting from 15 minutes away and ending at the East Wheal Rose leisure area, and are pretty fond of jaunts around Newquay Zoo (15 minutes). Adults, meanwhile, tend to prefer making a beeline for places like Healey's Cornish Cyder Farm (20 minutes) for obvious reasons…
