  • Quiet campsite in Irton village, 15 minutes’ drive from Scarborough
  • North Yorkshire Water Park 10 minutes’ drive; Filey 20 minutes
  • Adults-only site with basic facilities; pub five minutes’ drive
A lovely, quiet camping site situated in the rural village of Irton, just outside Scarborough, North Yorkshire. This is an established site under new ownership which is open most of the year and offers 20 grass pitches with electric hook ups. Toilet block with shower cubical, two drinking water points on the site. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on the lead as the site is based on Equestrian yard. Predominantly an adult only site but exceptions are made for historical families who have been visiting over the years.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Tranquil setting very quiet. Working equestrian centre with very nice owners. Everybody we spoke to whilst there was very friendly. The facilities were clean when ever we used them. You are asked to leave as you expect to find them. Which you would do at home. Would use again when back in the area.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Camping pod

Liked: Loved everything about the site. We stayed in Ash, the pod. Denise and Robbie very welcoming and helpful. Watching the shetland ponies and horses in the fields, was beautiful. Views for the pod stunning. Watched a barn owl flying around on our first night, plenty of hares running around. Most importantly to us , no lose dogs running around. Our chihuahua has anxiety, which we were worried about . Great little site , showers and toilets well maintained. We will definitely be going back. Whitby, Bridlington and Filey absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous fish and chips in Whitby. Car'nt wait for our next visit.

Disliked: Nothing.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: This is a lovely peaceful site. We could hear a little road noise in the distance but not enough to bother us. You’re not far from shops and the seaside. The showers were lovely and hot with good pressure. You have everything you need here and we’d not hesitate to go back.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay at The Ranch. We booked in for 4 x nights camping and found the site to be spacious, accessible and quiet (small site, adults only). We were rained out on the first night (leaky old tent) and we were unable to camp after that. Luckily one of the glamping pods was free so we switched. The pod was cosy, with heating and basic cooking facilities and light and spacious with lovely views across the fields. The owner was very helpful and refunded the camping fee that we'd already paid which she wasn't contractually liable to do. This was great. The other visitors on the site were very friendly and helpful and some of them were regulars, staying in static caravans. It's a basic site but totally adequate for our needs with hot and cold water, toilets, good showers and an indoor washing up area. It's in a beautiful rural location and we were surrounded by birdsong and saw hares. Local amenities are within 15 mins walking (5 mins in the car) plus we were well placed for exploring the coast and the moors. We would certainly go there again if in the area and would recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful and friendly holiday.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Absolutely everything. The location is peaceful, the owner is absolutely lovely. Quick walk to Seamer Fisheries or the local pub. One of the best campsites we have stayed on. Will definitely be returning. The facilities are basic but thats all you need. The shower is most definitely hot! you cant ask for a better more peaceful time away.

Disliked: Slight minor issue was no hot water came through for washing dishes.
