Liked: Leaving
Disliked: No grey waste facility, they asked us to dump anywhere…. Pitch was poor and had clearly not been inspected as it had metal pegs and 2 wheel studs on it. The business is clearly only interested in the gift and farm shop not the touring campsite which is confirmed by the fact the reception and shops are located well away from the touring pitches

Liked: Young animals on site entertained the kids.
Disliked: Some road noise was expected as mentioned in the description...... What I didn't expect is to be 10m away from the a66. Hardly makes for a relaxing trip. The campsite doesn't really have anything there other than the toilet block. Park for kids and animals is 5/10 mins walk. Really not a very good site. Can't comment on the shop, restaurant and bar as they shut at 5pm every day. An adequate 1 night stop over if stuck but wouldn't return.

Liked: The shop and cafe.
Disliked: The tents are placed so close to the A66 there is no rest from traffic noise day or night. The toilets were disgusting, children sitting around in them, first night toilets covered in sick and poo. The following night the toilet seats floor and walls from the toilet to the shower were covered in poo, I would never visit again.

Liked: Very friendly staff at reception. Excellent farm shop fully stocked with fresh produce, gifts and good quality meals.
Disliked: Not really a site for MH's. No MH services area for waste water. Our pitch was not level and needed ramps. Caravans alongside struggled to level their vans. Grass cut but cuttings left and grass covered shoes, etc. Very close to A66, so traffic noise all the time. The site needs some TLC.

Liked: Friendly staff, great food, great farm shop, good shower/toilet facilities. All together facilities were pretty fantastic with lovely people.
Disliked: Had to take down awning and whole set up after 24 hours as apparently I was a meter too close to the next pitch, and they need a 6 meter gap for fire safety. Which is fine, but this should’ve been communicated when we arrived, they give you a whole A4 size page of rules and regs, and why this was not on there, I have no idea. it was fine, we understood, just a bit annoying to take the awning off, unpeg everything, move the caravan & re-set up. The touring pitches were near the edge of the site next to the very busy road. Heavy goods vehicles and normal traffic on the road day and night so it wasn’t all together tranquil. This is mentioned minimally on their website. We asked to move pitches away from the road noise but were refused as they wouldn’t put a touring caravan amongst their seasonal pitch caravans even for a few nights. The staff were nice about it, just unwavering.

Liked: This is a lovely site. New toilet block is clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. The site has a lovely shop with lots of things to eat and drink. They also have a fantastic gift shop. All the staff are friendly, lovely and helpful. There is a restaurant but it was closed on our first day due to a power cut and didn't get chance to try it on the other days. The restaurant closes quite early so it does only do breakfast and lunch. There was a man to greet us on arrival who helped us put the caravan on the pitch and remained available if we needed him. All very clean and tidy.
Disliked: Could do with a sign to show where reception is. Reception is inside the shop but no signage outside the shop to say this. Would have been nice to be able to have a meal at night in the restaurant. The road noise is very loud as the touring part of this site is right next to the dual carriageway. The noise didn't bother us but I can imagine if you are noise sensitive this could be an issue. The noise continues all night. No wifi available.
