  • Five-acre site overlooking the Vale of Llangollen
  • Only half a mile from the beautiful Horseshoe Pass
  • An ideal location from which to visit Snowdonia National Park
Seeking a scenic setting close to the countryside for dawdles around Denbighshire…? Then set your sights on a stay at Abbey Grange Campsite, on a five-acre site in front of The Abbey Grange Hotel and overlooking the pretty Vale of Llangollen. Surrounded by fields and mountains, this park is half a mile from the well-known Horseshoe Pass and is a convenient base for exploring the immediate hilly surrounds or taking on treks in Snowdonia National Park (a 40-minute drive). Chances to climb, cycle, mountain bike, fish and golf are also around the local area – just ask on site for the lowdown. At the park, charging facilities are on hand for ensuring your GPS has enough batteries for when you’re out and about exploring the region, whether shopping in Llangollen, five minutes’ drive away, for food to bring back and grill up on the barbecue or ambling to the Cistercian Valley Crucis Abbey (less than a 10-minute walk). On your homecoming from hikes or other similarly energetic activities, hotel facilities such as the restaurant and bar are accessible for cosying up with a pint or a meal, and there's an outdoor play area to keep the kids busy. The site has male and female shower and toilet amenities, plus chemical disposal facilities.

What customers say

Great location with beautiful views, featuring a good pub and play area. However, facilities are often described as basic, dirty, and in need of updating. Noise from the road and other campers is a recurring issue, and some guests found it overpriced.

Unpowered grass site

Liked Staff were very friendly and helpful. The site was clean and tidy. I do however feel it was quite expensive for a grass field. £28 I'd say a realistic price would be around £15. It's £5 per night for WiFi and a whopping £18 for a 6 amp ehu.

Disliked 4 toilet/shower cubicles for the whole site. If 4 people are showering there no toilets unless the pub is open. I wouldn't stay again or recommend solely on the cost..
