  • Peaceful family park surrounded by lochs, glens, mountains and forests
  • On the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park
  • Oak and bluebell wood, adventure playground and shop
What a Stirling stunner. Covering a whopping 40 acres of landscaped grounds, Trossachs Holiday Park is a peaceful family site on the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, surrounded by woodlands, mountains, lochs and glens. Outdoor activities are all around here; it's under half an hour's drive to castles, whisky tours and loch boat trips, and the nightlife and restaurants of Glasgow are under an hour away: truly, you could lodge yourself at Trossachs for months. Former guests have lauded the friendly welcome, stunning location and spotless and plentiful facilities at Trossachs as well as its proximity to outdoor pastimes: walking, cycling, mountain biking, birdwatching, nature photography, fishing and golf are all in the region. Even closer to home, an oak and bluebell wood is within the grounds of the site for woodland walks, nature trails and gentle bike rides. Trossachs is an award-winning park, with an environment carefully managed and maintained as a scenic setting and one friendly to local wildlife. There's an adventure playground for your own mini adventurers, and heaps of space all around for play and general letting off steam. A wifi café makes a handy indoor retreat for less clement days. The immaculate amenities include two family shower suites; a bathroom block with toilets, washbasins and hot showers; a washing-up area and a launderette. Dogs are made most welcome here, and there are plenty of dog-friendly walks around the local area.

Fawn camping pod (no pets)

Liked: Park was lovely
Staff helpful when approached
The pod was ideal for somewhere to sleep as we were out each day.
My 7yr old enjoyed the park and all the kids played great together and all ages.

Disliked: POD was not as clean as I would have expected. A small place like the pod I would expect the mattresses to be lifted and cleaned under. The bed my son slept in had 2x chewing gum and fruit wedged down the side. The double bed had bits of nails, hair and dirt. I cleaned both up and didn’t approach staff as we arrived later than expected (back of 4) and they were finishing shift at 5pm.

Fox camping pod

Liked: High standard of accommodation, new, maintained and clean. Toilet/shower block immaculate, well heated and clean. Staff friendly & helpful

Disliked: Poor quality of mattress, could feel every spring. Poorly spec'd heating system (only 400W) outside temp was -3 room was cold. Room was probably loosing 400W from the windows alone.

Liked: Very friendly staff. Facilities were clean. Quiet which was nice we stayed near the play park although not many children were on site which was good.

Disliked: Didn't get a telephone signal. Although was nice to switch off from the world i couldn't check on my cat with the cat sitter. They do have wifi but we couldn't get any of it.

Fully-serviced gravel and concrete caravan site (maximum 6 metres)

Liked: Spacious fully serviced pitches (although the water wasn't working on ours but we were offered to move with no issues)
Quiet area
Shower block was clean if a bit chilly but we did go in winter!
Good walks nearby
Shop on site although we didn't use it. 10 min drive into Aberfoyle.

Disliked: Unfortunately the toilet/shower block for the touring pitches was out of order so a little bit of a longer walk to the toilets.
Touring area seems fairly new and is now a bit separate from the rest of the park. What was shown on their website as the touring pitches (in amongst the trees on stepped land) is now dedicated to statics. Not such a big deal for us but just to be mindful as you're now a bit further away for the shop/reception area.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: We have stayed at this park many times previously without any issues beforehand. Stayed for 2 nights recently on the new touring pitch toilet block closed had to walk to older shower bloke at top of park area park was full of large mud holes which we had to walk over to get to toilet block. No soap in either gents or ladies toilet to wash your hands gents toilet had no heating. Definitely will not be back staff have let touring standards of park slip.

From the manager: We're sorry to hear your stay wasn't a good stay, we're working on the issues you've mentioned and hope to have these rectified soon.

Local attractions

A bluebell wood, nature trails and stunning scenery are right on site for leisurely days, and you can mountain bike over Duke's Pass or go fishing, bouldering and horse riding at Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park less than half a mile away. More fishing (for salmon, sea trout, brown and rainbow trout, pike, perch, roach, chub and dace) is at Loch Lomond two miles from Trossachs. For hikes, amble the short trails and stop off for lakeside picnics at the Three Loch forest drive, six miles from the site, or combine walks with wildlife with a pootle around Blair Drummond Safari Park within half an hour's drive. For a very Scottish flavour of break, have whisky tasting and a tour around Glengoyne Distillery, 10 minutes' drive away, take a tour of Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument (35 minutes) or take a boat trip to Inchmahome Priory on the Lake of Menteith, reachable within 10 minutes.
