Unpowered grass campervan site
Liked: The rural nature of the site and the friendly welcome. The animals are great and the walks from the site are stunning.
Disliked: The facilities are very basic and limited in number, especially when the site is full. Only one shower and three portaloos.

Liked: Cosy, friendly and welcoming host (Claire) with pleasant guests also.
Our 10 year old boy felt comfortable and wants to go back, saying it’s friendly.
Great it’s sustainable / self sufficient. If we were there longer than one might and needed showers, perhaps the wait times for the one shower could be annoying if a larger group was also waiting. But not issues for us.
Nice to have fire pits and wood provided and the lounge area with games for chilling and charging devices if you need it.
And nice to have lama’s close by!
Overall, we’d like to go back soon!
Disliked: Portable toilet doors slamming in the night.

Liked: The goats and alpaca. The clear easy recycling on site. The stable lounge area for hanging out in if the weather was poor (as people with a small tent we really appreciated this).

Liked: Lovely site, with a very warm welcome. Eco-friendly and back-to-basics approach, which works really well thanks to the enormous hard work and attention to detail of the owner Claire. The facilities are kept scrupulously clean. We did the meet and greet and tour of the animals, which is totally recommended. With the personal approach and very generous amount of time that Claire gives, it is fascinating, fun and good value.

We received a very warm welcome from Claire who explained the layout and facilities of the site.
Good shower

Disliked: toilet facilities (compostable loo as advertised)
Overcrowded when full at the weekend
Basic washing up area, no hot water.

Woodchip unpowered campervan site
Liked: Lovely remote spot. Campervan pitch had a good layer of chippings to prevent us getting stuck. Toilet, shower and barn with seating and fridge, all clean. And the owner Clare was super helpful with advice on local places to go. Plus friendly alpacas and pigmy goats. We hope to return.

Liked: This site definitely has the eco friendly feel. Clare our host was so attentive for our stay.
We arrived in a yellow weather warning ⚠️, howler this site has a great barn equipped for you to use, to play games, charge your phones, eat and stretch your legs while the weather passes.
This small holding has an opportunity to feed the animals. Waking up in the natural surroundings was a treat.
The site is currently having additional hard standing pitches being added for all year round camping. A short walk away there is a fantastic pub, welcoming which serves a great meal, with welcoming staff.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked: Location and peacefulness
Disliked: Rudeness of owner, she came across rather patronising and nagging, stressed and unfriendly. Overgrazing evident in animal fields. It was very expensive as she charged £30 for a tent and £40 for a campervan, £70 total in an almost empty field in mid september! There was only one portaloo, a compost toilet would have suited the ethos of the place.
