  • Countryside park on 500 acres, 15 minutes' drive from Woolacombe
  • Woodland walks, nature trails, pool and riding centre on site
  • Two on-site bars and a takeaway; play park and miniature golf
Life’s little stresses getting you down? Want to stow yourself away for a countryside break where everything is close to your pitch? Come along to Combe Martin’s Stowford Farm Meadows in north Devon for a bit of de-stressing in a rural setting: the park is a mile from the main road down its own private drive and is a well-placed base from which to explore the best of Devon. Set among 500 acres of Devon woodland and meadows, Stowford Farm Meadows falls into the category of ‘very large’ sites – but fear not if your tastes tend towards the more solitary, as the park is divided into five separate fields and feels like several small sites rolled into one. The overall size means there are heaps of facilities and activities for you to try your hand at, from cantering around on horseback with the help of the on-site riding centre, to driving the kids crazy with your swish moves at the crazy golf. Looking for something a bit quieter? There are marked woodland walks into the wildlife-rich Bittadon valley, with nature trails starting and finishing on site. A heated indoor pool is available for a small extra charge. For putting feet up or letting hair down, the site has two bars (with evening entertainment in peak season) and an on-site takeaway. For supplies, Stowford Farm Meadows has a licensed, well-stocked shop and for your caravan and camping accessories. And finally? Even the dog will de-stress here, with a friendly welcome and a spacious dog-walking area on site…

What customers say

This large, tidy campsite boasts spacious sites and spotless facilities. Staff are a hit for being friendly and helpful, with plenty for families: pool, playgrounds, food. Some noted occasional noise, pricey extras and a few dated bits. Great spot for exploring North Devon.

Liked Love the site, been loads of times. Great location and facilities.

Disliked Booked asking to be pitched up next to our friends, confirmed twice, yet when we got there another member of staff was rude, entitled and told us clearly that they don't confirm pitches next to each other... The pitch next to ours was empty for the duration of our stay. Irritating or what!!
The majority of staff are helpful, and we will not be put off by Mrs Grumpy / in need of a customer care course...

Liked Nice park for the kids to play in and big site

Disliked Showers were often cold and dirty, receptionist was rude when discussing speed at which the wardens drive around the site moving and pitching caravans. Grass pitches very unlevel

Liked The site is well set out and clean

Disliked The restaurant is a bit of a letdown. Ate there twice the staff were nice but the food was not so good. Fish and chips was white fish, not cod, and pretty tasteless. The burger was a real letdown too. It tasted cheap

Powered grass caravan site

Liked Close to the coast and lots of attractions made a good base for exploring the sites of North Devon. It was handy to have some facilities on site such as bar, swimming pool, etc. The showers and toilets were kept clean. The shop was well stocked.

Disliked The signage on the campsite was not clear. It took ages for us to find our pitch. When wanting to book swimming, the sign outside the pool said we needed to book at reception but when enquired at the main desk, the member of staff said that the sign was incorrect and left up from Covid (?) and you just needed to prebook at the swimming pool itself. This was not quite accurate either, as we were told by pool staff that you cannot pre-book a session and was walk-in only.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked The showers and toilets were always clean. The pitches were a good size and it didn't feel like we were on top of each other.
The staff were amazing, very friendly and they even looked after my dog whilst I went swimming with my kids.

Lovely park on site for the kids to play in.

Disliked I couldn't find my pitch as it was not signed very well.

The swimming pool water was cold and you had to pay extra for swimming. When the inflatables were up the cost of swimming doubled in price. I also didn't like that one adult couldn't take more than one child swimming by themselves if they were under 9 because they don't have a lifeguard.

I couldn't get a wifi connection and had to pay but I still couldn't get a connection and couldnt get my money back.

There were also so many wasps and my child got stung a couple of times.

Liked Easy to book, great pitch sizes. Facilities on site were great, shop, pool, bar. Toilets were clean.

Disliked Pool rules. An adult has to be in the pool kids aged 13,and also pay to spectate if the kids are in the pool.

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site

Liked Pitch was large and flat but a little too shady nice to have it fully serviced

Disliked Size of site was massive. the pub only served greasy food not a salad on the menu and only bottle beer no cask. The pool was overcrowded and the reception only gave basic information. Also would be good to have an arrow system around the one way roads. The toilets were very dimly lit. Would have thought a site that size would have some form of evening entertainment but wasn’t told of any and didn’t see anything advertised. Also had to pay for wifi and only option was one or 4 days we only stayed two so cost the same as it would have for four days.
