What customers say
This campsite offers a peaceful, back-to-basics getaway with spacious sites and lovely rural views. Reviewers rave about the friendly, super-helpful owner, Richard, who keeps the portaloos and showers spotless. Facilities are basic but well-maintained. Great for exploring local attractions like the Eden Project, it's also perfect for stargazers and nature fans. Watch out for narrow access roads and the odd shower temp fluctuation, but it's great value and chilled out.

Liked Richard The owner is the most amazing host, he will go out of his way to help you, what an amazing man, he's so friendly and great to chat too, he told us about a local bike ride which was the highlight of our day, we couldn't buy firewood from the shop but he will chop wood for you for a small fee which was a life saver. The view was stunning and there are horses and cows in the next field. The showers were hot and clean and there was always toilet paper in the toilets. This is a great proper camping site

Liked Spacious well maintained large pitches to the right hand side for EHU. Lovely hot showers and plenty of toilets dotted around the site. Large open field for kids and family to play (Fly kites, football, rounders, cricket and more). Very friendly atmosphere and Richard was superb when we requested some firewood it was with us within 20mins and at £5 a crate was great value for the night fire for marshmallows and cooking our locally sourced sausages, steak and chicken from the butchers in St Austell. Easy access from site to Helman Tor which is visible from site and ventures into Looe, Polperro, St Ives, Newquay. Lost Gardens of Halligan are a must visit with lots to see and do and a very affordable family day out. We can't wait to plan our next visit at The Camping Field, Thank You Richard.

Just got home from a 10 night stay at The Camping Field. The kids had a blast meeting new friends, as did we! Richard is absolutely lovely and welcoming and was always busy cleaning the toilets and showers and stopping by for a chat. Will definitely be back! Thanks again Richard! 😀

Liked Really lovely place tucked away in the central point of Cornwall. I really loved this peaceful spot. I felt safe as a single traveller. The toilets and showers were very clean. The owner is a very lovely and helpful guy too. I will definitely come back to this place and recommend it to my friends. I was very grateful for the cost per night especially when you travel on a budget. Thank you so much!

Liked Awesome camping field, loads of space around you. Quite a central location for east and west coast so that’s beneficial if you have transport to get around. Friendly staff there! Would definitely go back!
