  • Adults-only park with carp and coarse fishing lakes in pretty scenery
  • A 10-minute drive from Lincoln and 20 from the Lincolnshire Wolds
  • Dog-walking area on site; easy access to public transportation
Looking for a quiet and friendly adults-only site in Lincolnshire for a motorhome or campervan? Lovely – then you could soon be lolling about at Langdale Lakes, 10 minutes’ drive from Lincoln amid a lush and leafy landscape. As the name suggests, this park surrounds a few bodies of water for carp and coarse fishing in fab scenery (with a discount on pegs for guests). It’s an ace place for ambling too as there’s a designated dog walking area allowing off-leash explores for the couple of well-behaved canines visitors can bring with them on their hol. Loping around the lakes is also a fine way to spend some time here, as is venturing a touch further out for cycling and boat trips along local canals or visiting villages scattered around the Lincolnshire Wolds (20 minutes), like Market Rasen, Alford and Caistor. Prefer to mosey about without the motorhome? Buses stop outside the site and travel in two directions, including to Lincoln, the market towns of Louth and Horncastle, and the seaside at Skegness. On return, the site has ample amenities for completing chores, from dishwashing facilities within a well-lit and sheltered area to an Elsan emptying point and grey water waste disposal. The microwave is handy for heating up any leftovers you’ve brought home from lunch at one of Lincoln’s excellent eateries.

Power optional gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked: Jacqui and John was very welcoming, beautiful site you can tell they have put a lot of work and time into the site.
It’s a well thought out site.
Shower and toilet were spotless.
Peaceful, lovely walk around the lakes.
You can hear the trains go past but it wasn't very frequent we didn’t mind that.
We loved it that much we have booked to go again in June.

Power optional gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked: A truly delightful, quiet and well maintained site for adults only. The owners, Jackie and John, are welcoming, friendly and hardworking. The pitches close to the lake are delightful but if you have a very long caravan and an estate sized car you might need to leave your car in the nearby parking spaces. The showers were spotless as were the toilets which are supplied with toilet paper. There is a walk around one lake and also a “Wetland Walk” where you can let your dog off the lead but beware, some of the water is quite smelly so your pooch might need to be hosed down as ours did! It is a lovely walk and “poo bins” are provided. We do not fish but those who did seemed to be quite happy. You wake not to a Dawn Chorus but to a Duck Chorus supported by Geese which is absolutely delightful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights there. Another plus is that it is only minutes from a large Tesco and little further to Lincoln Centre. Skegness is not far in the opposite direction with its shopping and excellent beach. We will return.

Disliked: A couple of small niggles. The press button showers only lasted for ten seconds which meant that you hardly had time to get shampoo to your hair before the water stopped and you were constantly pressing the button. I understand the need for showers like this but a bit longer would be appreciated.
The other one was that the advertisement said “Electric Pitch” which one presumes includes electricity the price being the same as other sites which do. It was therefore a surprise to find that we had to pay extra for metered electricity. It was good that, if you did not use what you paid for, you were given a refund so a big plus there! I want to point out that these were not dislikes just, as stated, niggles. They would not deter us from returning.

Power optional gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked: Picturess, well cared for site. Dog walking area, with 3 fishing lakes.

Disliked: Owners were rude and abrupt on arrival, mostly the lady. The gentleman was quite condescending when asked questions about the the pitch. Our tap was turned off when we were off site for 3 hours. There are lots of electric fences on this site and there is a curfew of 11pm also on the entrance gate. There is a train track that runs on the perimeter of the site, wasn't a problem for us, but it may annoy others. Showers were not overly clean, but were ok.

Power optional gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked: This is such a brilliant site, looked after beautifully by Jacqui and John. The care and love they have for the site and the nature within is so lovely. We loved hearing the owl and woodpecker during our stay. The dog walk they have created is a joy with lots of lovely places to sit. Pitches were level with all the services. The facilities were immaculate with lovely hot water. There is a bus stop literally steps outside the campsite which gets you to Lincoln one way or Skegness the other which is so convenient. What makes this site is Jacqui and John. We had an issue with our motorhome just before we were due to leave and they went above and beyond with advice and support and let us stay a few hours over our time whilst we tried to sort it. By the way John we managed to get a bypass pipe fitted in camper uk 😊, thanks again!

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Power optional gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked: Owners were very nice Lovely couple. Site was well located with Bus stop outside. Enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to book here again if in the area. Electric hook up cost extra however we were in a campervan and only spent £1.15 for 3 nights so good value for money as they refund anything left on the meter at the end of your stay

Local attractions

Lincoln’s a smashing spot for urban explores: it has a cathedral, castle, museums, art galleries and shops aplenty (10 minutes’ drive). The cobbled Steep Hill is worth a stroll – true to its moniker, it’s the fourth steepest street in England, so don’t be surprised if scaling it leaves you huffing and puffing. Other settlements to have a gander at include Market Rasen (20 minutes), which has a racecourse, and the Georgian town of Louth (half an hour) – a foodie’s fave – on the other side of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The whole area’s also a hotspot for folk fond of flying; aviation sites are scattered all around, including the Red Arrows’ home at RAF Scampton Heritage Centre (15 minutes). Petrolheads are pretty keen on Cadwell Park (half an hour), while golf courses are a pound a penny for those who want to perfect their swing. Seeking seaside times? The golden sands of the Lincolnshire coast, including the beaches around Skegness, are about an hour’s drive.
