Maes Tywyn Campsite

Positiv Excellent instructions on how to get there. Met straight away by Terry, which was lovely. Great facilities, extremely clean. Nice to have a fridge and plugs in the shed. Loved that we could pitch where we liked in the field, surrounded by gorgeous views. Very peaceful.

Positiv We had a lovely couple of nights at this campsite. It was peaceful, spacious and really well kept, with plenty of room to choose your own pitch, which was a great bonus.

Terry and Jean were incredibly welcoming and friendly and gave us all the information we needed for a comfortable stay. The shared facilities were very handy and the toilets and showers were always clean.

A lovely campsite with a relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming hosts. We’d definitely stay again!

Positiv The site is peaceful, very child friendly, and beautiful views.
There is a toilet block with showers too. Washing up facilities, a room with some fridges and a freezer, kettle and microwave. It also had leaflets for different places in Anglesey and lots of board games, books etc. There was also multiple charging ports which was handy to charge power banks etc. There was a fruit basket for kids near the washing facilities which was lovely touch.
There is two fields, so the ‘smaller’ one was when you come in and closer to the facilities, and then the big field next door. We stayed in the big field which was huge. So much space for kids to run around, and lots of space to pitch up. The views of the Eyri (snowdon) was gorgeous.
Also for those with kids, there is a park onsite which was super handy! It has a sitting area too for parents.

Location wise it is really good. There is a cafe at another campsite next door which you can pop in if you want (we didn’t but know some did), a cafe further down called Whistlestop, and up the road (15 min walk) there was a shop, fish and chip shop etc which was handy. You’re about an 8-10 mins drive away from Newborough Forest and beach. It’s easy to get to a lot of places on the island too.

Terry and Jane (the camp owners) were absolutely lovely. They welcomed us when we arrived, gave us recommendations for places to go, and they were around frequently on the site restocking, cleaning etc. They really had thought of everything for the site. A special thank you to them aswell as my car decided half way through our time there to have an engine problem. They were supportive in helping us and also got me in touch with a mechanic to get it all sorted!

Overall we had a brilliant time, and we will definitely be back next year! Thank you for having us ☺️

Positiv Really lovely site. Owners friendly and welcoming, gave us all the info we needed. We were able to choose our own pitch which was great. Small mixed sex toilet and shower block (3 showers, toilets and sinks) which was a touch cramped at peak times, but the lady owner was there cleaning a lot, so it was always pretty spotless and plenty of loo roll and hot water!
The little shed with toys/games and info on the area was great. Really handy to know there is a kettle, microwave and fridge/freezer for guests to use! Great idea and well utilised by all. The washing up facilities were fab too, but again, only 3 sinks and very busy at peak times!

The kids park is a great addition, mine were hardly off it! The set pitches on the first field were a really good size. Better than most places these days! Super dog friendly too.

We honestly couldn't really fault it, fantastic and great value for money! We will definitely be back next summer!

Negativ Just the toilet block/washing up sinks being a little cramped and busy, but it's fully understandable why it's this way as they are (unfortunately!!) only open a short period of time.
