A peaceful site in a Portuguese pinewood, with surfing, fishing and sunbathing on the Costa de Prata nearby – sign up for all this at Leria's Parque Orbitur São Pedro de Moel. It's a quiet, spacious site, in a pinewood on the edge of São Pedro de Moel, the small and scenic seaside town west of Marinha Grande and Leria. The town's sandy beach, about 600 metres from the site, is popular with surfers and anglers; beach volleyball courts are often set up, and several scenic bike rides and strolls are in the area, either along the coast or on the Volta dos Sete trail through forests from the village. The region's well known for glassmaking too: look out for artisans making their wares nearby, using the traditional method popular here for centuries. Parque Orbitur São Pedro de Moel is a big and well-equipped site, with a bar-restaurant, free wifi, a pool with waterslide, a paddling pool, a tennis court and a playground. Amenities include a shower/toilet block with disabled access.

Liked The camp was well maintained and clean. The showers had good hot water and kept clean often. The staff were friendly and accommodated us by speaking English which we appreciate. Swimming pools we nice and they entertained us with events especially in the evenings.I liked the site a lot and plan on returning.

Disliked I would suggest these as improvements, to clearly state what is available in the bungalows.. so we can be better prepared. I was expecting atleast a kettle to boil water but the only thing was a refrigerator available. I dont mind bringing my own but please state clearly on your website as to what is available. Nothing to dislike as everything is what you pay for in terms of accommodation.

Liked The lady at reception was very helpful and spoke excellent English. Otherwise nothing to like.

Disliked Disorganised, chaotic mayhem.
Dog's breakfast of a place.
We booked a campsite several weeks in advance. When we arrived, we were shown on their park map the area we could park our motorhome. But there was no room whatsoever. It was chaos. Tents, cars, campervans everywhere and anywhere. We had to drive back out and find a place elsewhere.
Very disappointing and a total disgrace.
If that's what Orbitur camp grounds are like then we probably will not even look at them for future bookings.

Liked Las instalaciones del camping, todo muy limpio. Y la ubicación, está en una zona muy agradable y nada masificada, muy tranquila. Ha sido una estancia agradable en general.

Disliked Que las parcelas no estaban delimitadas, parecía un campo de batalla suerte que los campistas son muy respetuosos y a pesar de estar tan cerca unos de otros no incomodaba.

Disliked Le sol des emplacements est sablonneux, les heures de silence ne sont pas respectées : camping bruyant, piscines non chauffées, animations n'incluant pas les étrangers, 1 bloc sanitaire fonctionnel sur 3 : les 2 autres sont vétustes, pas de city stade seul un court de tennis disponible sur réservation, éloignement des sites touristiques

Liked Le camping en lui même très sympathique pas trop grand pas trop petit. Les sanitaires sont propres et entretenu régulièrement. Piscine sympas transat en nombres corrects.
Les animations soirées sont cool
Le resto est bien tarif correct

Disliked Ballon interdit dans la piscine dommage
Les animations sont moyennes… exemple danse dans la piscine les chorégraphies sont trop compliquées et pas adaptées à tout âge…
La supérette ouvre trop tard (8h30) a très très peu de chose et coûte un bras! Wifi pas assez élargie…

Local attractions

The beach community and beaut town of São Pedro de Moel is half a kilometre from the site, and the beach with its surfing and fishing 100 metres from there. Venturing out to explore, the Volta dos Sete seven-kilometre circular walking trail leaves from the town, on a mighty handsome route taking in the ocean, fountains, streams and the 700 year old Leria pine forest. Around 15 kilometres of cycle paths also leave from São Pedro de Moel, or for an easy amble, you could wander for a kilometre or so along the Atlantic to the Penedo da Saudade lighthouse, open to the public on Wednesday afternoons. To investigate the long tradition of Portuguese glassmaking, make for the Marinha Grande glass museum 10 kilometres away, in the Stephenes Museum. Glassmaking demonstrations are held on site by the museum artisans. Going further, Leiria with its castle, cathedral and lively cafés of the Praça Francisco Rodrigues Lobo main square, is 20 kilometres away; medieval Coimbra is within 70.
