  • Quiet site by a 280-hectare lake between Champagne and Burgundy
  • Outdoor pool, heated indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi
  • Waterskiing, wakeboarding and windsurfing on the lake
Lake views, watersports activities, kilometres and kilometres of walking and cycling trails… You could use this splendid site as a stopover on journeys from Calais to Frejus and the south or, better still, treat yourself to an extended stay – there's loads to keep you entertained here, and Burgundy and the south of the Champagne region are positively bubbling with stuff to do. With views over a lake and the cathedral and citadel of Langres, six kilometres in the distance, this is a fine spot for a getaway for as long as you can manage. It has direct access to the 280-hectare lake where you can try your hand at waterskiing, wakeboarding and windsurfing; for a gentler time on the lake, rent a pedal boat and paddle your way around the shoreline. The outdoor pool has a waterslide, and the heated indoor pool has views over the lake. And when all the swimming and splashing around becomes too much, the sauna and Jacuzzi are a grand place to chill out. In between swimming and watersports, hang out at the restaurant terrace, which looks out over the site's pool area. For other food options, pick up a few picnic treats at the well-stocked on-site supermarket, or order bread and pastries from the bakery for breakfast feasts or picnic hamper packups ready for day trips out around the region. Speaking of which, tourist info is very well organised here, and delivered enthusiastically by a friendly multilingual team; they highly recommend you rent a mountain bike on site and pedal your way around the local countryside, or join one of the 15 kilometres of hiking trails that begin on site or take you along the banks of the Burgundy Canal.

Local attractions

The Haute-Marne department in Champagne's south is made up of hills crossed by canals and dotted with huge lakes, all punctuated by historic villages, towns and cities. Five kilometres from base is the award-winning walled citadel Langres; once a military stronghold, it's crammed with bastions, ramparts and fortifications, as well as several pretty churches. Other spots worth visiting within 25 kilometres include Fayl-Billot, famed for its basket-making heritage; Nogent and its historic cutlery manufacturing industry, and the contemporary art exhibition at Auberive's abbey. Fancy taking a look at France's newest national park? The Forêts National Park, opened in 2019, is just under an hour's drive away for walks on around 2000 kilometres of footpath and chances to spot deer, wildcats and wild boar.
