  • Peaceful well-maintained park, eight miles from the beach at Newport
  • Around a scenic ornamental lake
  • Close to spectacular walks and bike rides around the Preseli Hills
The highest pub in the county is under five minutes' walk from peaceful Rosebush Holiday Park, Pembrokeshire – and if you've been to this cracking part of Wales before, you'll know that means tiptop views come as standard. As they do on site too: Rosebush is laid out around a handsome ornamental lake (pic time, please), against a backdrop of the Preseli Hills to the north. Trees, woodland and green fields surround the site; around the region, there are more photoworthy scenes from Foel Cwm Cerwyn, the highest peak in the Preseli Hills and reachable within an hour's walk, or heading towards the spectacular Pembrokeshire shoreline at Saundersfoot, Tenby and around the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The site is just outside the hamlet of Rosebush, 20 minutes' drive from Haverfordwest and eight miles from the seaside at Newport. It's a secluded place deep in countryside, with a quiet vibe, a relaxed feel, and many a serene spot to sit at around the lake. Amenities include showers and toilets, chemical disposal, gas sales, a launderette and a washing-up area. Wifi is available, but you may just prefer to gaze out at the scenery laid out before you instead… at the lake, the surrounding hills or at your nosh and ale at the pretty local pub a couple of minutes' stroll away.

What customers say

This peaceful campsite offers beautiful surroundings with lakes and countryside views, ideal for relaxing walks. Facilities, particularly the toilet and shower blocks, are consistently praised for their cleanliness and modern standard. Staff are frequently described as friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A small on-site bar and nearby pub enhance the experience. While some visitors noted a lack of amenities for younger children and occasional Wi-Fi issues, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Clean, well organised site with a waterlily and duck pond. Music and bar at the weekend was a nice touch. Interesting walk through nearby disused slate quarry.

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review.
We're really pleased you enjoyed the site and the peaceful setting with the ponds.
Great to hear you liked the music at the bar too - its always a nice way to end the bank holiday. The old slate quarry is a fascinating spot, and we're glad you had the time to explore it.
We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Liked Quiet and well maintained ,nice pub a short walk from site with nice food and helpful staff

Disliked Poor WiFi and phone signal no tv signal, credit card or debit cards not acceptable on site

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback.
we're so pleased you enjoyed the quiet setting.
We understand the frustration with Wi-Fi, and phone signal: being in the heart of the Preseli Mountains does mean coverage can be limited at times, but many guests find it adds to the chance to unwind.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked A lovely setting, quiet and perfect for long walks.
Toilet blocks were very clean and tidy.
There was a bar onsite.
Felt very safe, as a lone traveller.

Disliked Unfortunately I was unable to connect to the WiFi during my stay.

On arrival I had to pay the outstanding balance, they only accepted a balance transfer or cash, this is not clear at the time of booking.

Also, on arrival I was given a crib sheet of rules and regulations, I must admit this didn’t feel very welcoming.
Perhaps this could be changed to a welcome sheet with information about the site e.g. Ste map, things to see and do in the locality. Rules have to exist for good reason but could have been shared in a more positive manner.

Perhaps a small shop with basics would have been beneficial, especially as there are no shops or amenities in Rosebush itself.

It would have been useful if there was access to a hairdryer in the toilet block.

From the manager: Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback.
We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed the peaceful setting, the cleanliness of our facilities, and that you felt safe and welcome as a solo traveller - really means a lot to us.

The payment method is out of our control, it states on the pitch up booking form as to how sites take their payments on arrival. Will get in touch with pitch up about making it clearer going forward to avoid confusion.

With regard to the site rules - like all campsites, we do need to have them in place to make sure everyone enjoys a safe and pleasant stay.
We hope we have the chance to welcome you back in the future.

Liked Nice well kept clean site, nice clean toilet/ shower facilities.
Pitches great size beautiful scenery and nice lake to walk around. Lovely lil onsite pub open Friday and Saturday lovely vibe and style.

Disliked Felt more of a adults only site, and water pressure abit hit and miss when filling water for caravan took very long time

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely feedback! 🌿 We’re delighted you enjoyed the cleanliness of the site, the spacious pitches, the facilities, and of course the beautiful scenery and lake walks. We’re also glad you enjoyed the vibe of our little onsite pub.

We appreciate your comments regarding the water pressure – we’ll certainly take this up with Welsh Water. While we welcome families as well as adults, we understand that the peaceful atmosphere can sometimes feel more suited to adults, and we’ll continue to make sure everyone feels welcome.

Local attractions

That local pub is Tafarn Sinc, dishing up eats and drinks among the spectacular scenery of the Preseli Hills. The Rosebush team also recommends stocking up on beers from the award-winning Seren Brewing Company half a mile from the park, and on local dairy produce from Pantmawr Farmhouse Cheese, under five minutes' stroll away. It's a drive of 10 minutes south to the Llys y Fran Country Park and Reservoir, for sailing, waterside cycling, walking and trout fishing, all among more spectacular views and a 100-foot dam. For coastal hikes, access the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from Tenby for the eight-mile hike to Manorbier Castle, a Norman fortress standing above the beach, or start off from The Parrog at Newport for treks to Traethmawr, Morfa Head and Ceibwr. Family days are easily sorted at Oakwood Theme Park, half an hour away at Narberth, and at Folly Farm, within 35 minutes at Kilgetty.
