  • Relaxed site between the Pembrokeshire coast and the Preseli Hills
  • Haverfordwest 15 minutes' drive; St Davids half an hour
  • Family- and dog-friendly farm camping; campfires and barbecues allowed
Whether you’re just looking for somewhere to stay in Pembrokeshire's pretty countryside or planning big hikes and bike rides, you’ll be in a prime patch at Headlands Farm Camping. What makes this space such a great base? Well, its simple and well-presented farm field pitches have the relaxed and laidback vibe you’d want out of any holiday location. There’s also easy access to both the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, and the Preseli Hills, a range of small mountains just to the north. Facilities across the small-scale site include things like chemical waste disposal and a toilet block, making Headlands Farm Camping a wise choice for self-sustaining groups of adventurers who are happy to stick to the bare necessities. Families, dogs, motorbikes and same-sex groups will all find a warm welcome here. You’re likely here for some action out in the Pembrokeshire countryside, but it’s also easy to get out and visit attractions elsewhere too. Perhaps Llys-y-frân reservoir (10 minutes’ drive), the sandy beaches that line the shores of St Brides Bay (25 minutes) or the tiny city of St Davids (30 minutes)? Handily, the site’s also a quarter of an hour's drive from the centre of Haverfordwest, which is a sizeable town packed with pretty much all you need for the duration of your stay. Supermarkets, cafés and pubs aside, the town also has a great public leisure centre and the ruins of a medieval priory to explore.

What customers say

This quiet, small campsite is praised for its friendly and accommodating host. Guests enjoyed the peaceful location, flat pitches, and central position for exploring Pembrokeshire. Facilities are described as basic but clean by some, while others found them unkempt and lacking hot water, with a note that seating in the shower cubicles would be beneficial. The site can be boggy after rain.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked The host, owner was a star!

Disliked The washroom/shower was surprisingly unkept, dirty and uninviting! The grass parking area was too boggy to use, so no real opportunity to use the hook-up etc!

Local attractions

Your break can be as relaxing or as action-packed as you like here. The start of the Preseli Hills is just 10 minutes’ drive away, meaning that you’ll be poised for hiking among crags, or following The Golden Road past burial cairns, prehistoric remains and Iron Age hill forts. At Llys-y-frân reservoir (10 minutes' drive), the adventurous vibe continues: sailing, canoeing, mountain biking or paddleboarding will surely get your blood pumping. As for those of you who have kids to keep well-entertained, both Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (30 minutes) and Heatherton World of Activities (40 minutes) are likely to snatch up even short attention spans. Here primarily for the lush Welsh coastline? Dive right in – literally – at St Brides Bay (20 minutes), where snorkelling and diving are common pastimes. Tenby (45 minutes) is a treat for all things watersports, fishing trips and ghost walks. If you’re looking for a slightly more laidback sort of day (that isn’t a beach day, at least), probing around the cathedral, museum and gallery in St Davids (30 minutes) fits the bill.
