Pitches

  • Peaceful Brecon Beacons pitches with firepits and outdoor kitchen
  • A five-minute walk to Pontypool Golf Club; 15 minutes up Garn Wen
  • Spacious pitches; bring dogs and extra tents for no added charge
Seeking seclusion, scenery and space? Willow Acres Campsite has the lot in good measure – and with lots of extras thrown in for free too. Located on Lasgarn Farm, in Torfaen countryside and with fine Brecon Beacons and Severn Estuary views, this peaceful site is run by third-generation farmers looking for eco-friendly ways to support the future of their farm, and who care passionately about the environment (as you’ll see from the compost loo and the handmade wooden shower cubicles). Pitches here have been created from individually cut areas in a lovely wild meadow, with plenty of space for up to six guests on each one. The space is yours to use as you please – there are no extra charges for dogs, cars or extra tents, making these pitches a great option for families or small groups. Outdoor evenings here are a real highlight – each pitch has a firepit provided, with a stack of firewood for you to use for free as well. Have a go at cooking your dinner over flames, or wander up to the fabulous covered outdoor kitchen to create something more elaborate (it’s fully set up with a gas hob and all the dishes and pots and pans you might require, so there’s no need to bring much with you). Please bring a torch as this is a dark-skies site, with no light after dark but the chance to spot the Milky Way glittering far above on clear nights. Pontypool (10 minutes’ drive) is just down the road if you fancy a night out at the pubs and restaurants though.

Blue Bella non-electric grass campervan or tent pitch (private bathroom amenities, secluded, woodland)

Liked Secluded and fenced which was great to let the dog off and roam without worrying about him. Great facilities, including a cool box powered by solar. Great walks from the pitch with great views. Simon and Sharon were great hosts. Couldn't ask for more

Disliked Too short of a stay😪

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re really glad you enjoyed the seclusion of Blue Bella and that your dog could roam freely and safely — that’s exactly what we want guests to feel. It’s great to hear the facilities and woodland walks hit the mark too.

It was a pleasure having you both here, and we’re so grateful for your kind words about us as hosts. The only downside being that your stay was too short made us smile. You’re welcome back anytime.

Custard non-electric grass campervan or tent pitch (private bathroom amenities)

Liked Great facilities, private compost loo was nice and cooking shelter was great when it was windy or raining. Lovely quiet site with owners on hand to answer any queries. Pitch easily accommodated two VW campers.

Disliked Can’t think of anything I didn’t like about the site. We were there early in the season with not many other campers. May be different when full.

From the manager: Thank you so much for staying with us in April and for sharing your experience. We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed the facilities — especially the private compost loo and the cooking shelter, which definitely come in handy when the weather turns.

It’s lovely to know you found the site peaceful and that having us nearby for any questions helped make your stay comfortable. We’re also glad Custard had plenty of space for both VW campers.

We really appreciate your kind words and your honesty about visiting early in the season. We do our best to keep the site calm and enjoyable even when we’re fully booked, and it means a lot that you couldn’t think of anything you didn’t like.

We’d be delighted to welcome you back again whenever you’re ready for another quiet getaway.

Friendly staff, beautiful setting, relaxing, clean and tidy all round.

Blue Bella non-electric grass campervan or tent pitch (private bathroom amenities, secluded, woodland)

Liked Our first visit to this site and gojng to be our new favourite going forward! The hosts "Simon and John" were fantastic, personable, good local knowledge and on hand if you needed them.
The Blue Bella pitch was amazing, private, secluded and quiet away from city life it really does bring the Welsh countryside to life.
We collected fire wood and has ourselves some classic marshmallows after dinner every evening.
Private facilities on the pitch included compost toilet, HOT shower, hot washing up water, gas stove and covered seating/kitchen area which was a godsend with the heavy rain, there was even crockery and kettle if you needed it. Little solar lights around the pitch give a great ambiance whilst stargazing in the night.
With the pitch being 7m x 20m we easily fit a 7 person tent and suv all within the space.
Cows met us in the morning by the shower and there is plenty to do just a short walk or drive away.
The main site just a couple minutes walk away provided a place to charge phones etc if needed and communal freezer units.
A hike up to Mynydd Garn-Wen which too us about 30mins gives you some great 360 views all round. We visited the big pit too which was just a 20min drive away. A quick 10min walk takes you into Lasgarn Wood for some great forest walks.
My 11 year old boy loved it and we both can't wait to come back again!
P.S. No WiFi as far as I'm aware (which in my eyes isn't needed being out in the remote countryside)

From the manager: Thank you so much for staying with us in August and for sharing such an incredible review. We’re over the moon to hear that Blue Bella has become a new favourite for you — that truly means a lot.

It was a pleasure meeting you both, and we’re really glad you found us helpful and welcoming. The privacy and seclusion of Blue Bella are something we’re really proud of, so it’s wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed the peace, the wildlife, and the feeling of being tucked away in the Welsh countryside.

We’re delighted the pitch worked perfectly for your tent and SUV, and that the private facilities, covered kitchen area, and little touches like the solar lights helped make your stay comfortable even in the rain. It sounds like you made the most of the evenings too — marshmallows by the fire is exactly what Blue Bella is made for.

It’s great to hear you enjoyed the walks, the views from Mynydd Garn‑Wen, the Big Pit, and the woodland trails. And we love that your son had such a brilliant time — that’s the best feedback we could hope for.

Thank you again for the recommendation and your kind words. Nothing to dislike is the highest compliment. We’d be thrilled to welcome you both back next season for more countryside adventures.

Liked Cannot praise this site any more! Absolutely beautiful little meadow vibe with lots of twinkly lights. The kids played just the way kids should for the entire stay. Liked We had a wonderful stay — perfect for first-time campers with children! The campsite is well equipped with everything you might need: an easily accessible water source, gas hob, fridge, freezer, toilet, as well as plates and cutlery provided.

The camping spots are spacious, and there’s a beautiful walk up the mountain nearby. The owners were kind and welcoming, offering firewood each day. Parking is just a short walk away, and handy barrels are available to help carry belongings to the site.

It’s an ideal place for families — you get the joy and experience of camping while still having access to essentials that make things easier.

Blue Bella non-electric grass campervan or tent pitch (private bathroom amenities, secluded, woodland)

Liked Lovely and peaceful pitch. Separate from main site. Beautiful view across meadows and wood. Great for walking dog. Lots of space for van. Brilliant little kitchen area for cooking and fire. Compost loo and shower tucked away at back of pitch. Shower was piping hot. Not too far from canal for cycling, Abergavenny for market and shops and a fantastic day out at Bike Park Wales which was a short drive away. Would love to come back.

Disliked No water tap so had to fill up water at main site.
