  • Family site two miles from Barmouth
  • Sea views on site; short walk from Talybont station
  • Access to facilities of sister site including swimming pool
Settle in for sea views from several corners of the site at Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park in Gwynedd, in the seaside village of Tal-y-Bont and a couple of miles from the beaut beach at Barmouth. Pods and pitches here are flanked by sea and mountain views, and are within easy walking distance of the village, which has a takeaway and a riverside pub. Even closer is Talybont station, a couple of minutes' walk away and handy for outings to Barmouth beach or north to the peaks of Snowdonia. Showers, toilets and a washing-up area are available on site. The pitch price at Tyddyn Goronwy also includes a free leisure pass to its sister park Sunnysands Caravan Park, a short drive away, to use its heated indoor pool, café, fish and chip shop and other facilities – and you might want to stick around for the spectacular beachfront sunsets too.

Camping pod (no pets)

Liked The Pod was great, saved us putting up the tent as only stayed two nights. Staff were very helpful, especially Ginny. Lovely views, very clean toilets and showers. Was quiet as we were before the school holidays.

Disliked No faculty to freeze ice packs but Ginny kindly put then in her freezer for us, as did the lady at reception on the caravan park.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Locality of beach & train station.

Disliked Very basic facilities, fortunately the site was filling as we left and we doubt the number of showers and toilets would suffice.
Poor welcome, dog poo on site, hollow in ground not filled in outside our awning despite reporting one of us had fallen down after stepping into it...

Recommend to friends Visit again

So I have no idea if I'd have enjoyed it as i never got to try .

Camping pod (pet friendly)

Liked We had to book another site as I contacted and contacted then got told pitch up had cancelled my holiday and this was a week before we were due to arrive.then they said I had to contact pitchup.who unfortunatly took 4-5 days to answer which was too late.its a shame as I love the location and could gave had a great time.the new manager did try to offer a compromise but we were nit able to add to our holiday due to beds & bedding.if we were doing the whole holiday at these pods that would be different but it's a lot of extra items to fill a small car for one night however I had to score poor for customer service due to chasing and chasing not getting replies and it being left till 6 days before we should have travelled.

Disliked See above. I still need my deposit back.tydden offered to add 1 free night at the pod to add on to our new holiday we'd booked but the pod at hendre mynach has beds so i couldn't take a free night as id have to bring blow up beds and everything just for one night for one night. The Manager did also offer 2 nights camping but my sister did not want to camp.

Local attractions

To Barmouth first, of course: its position on the north Wales coast surrounded by Snowdonia National Park makes it a popular and pretty place to visit – and the huge beach is pretty special to see as well. Away from the coast (eventually), a wide range of activities is available around Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park, from cycling to hiking to pony trekking – or strap on lots of energy and tackle the Snowdon and Cadair Idris mountain ranges a short distance away. A chuffing good way to see the spectacular scenery of north Wales is on one of its small steam trains: the nearest to Tyddyn Goronwy are the Fairbourne Steam Railway just outside Barmouth and the Ffestiniog Railway about 10 miles away.
