  • Adults-only site with serviced pitches in a secluded hill location
  • Free pitch and putt and book/DVD library
  • Large enclosed dog exercise area on site
After a bit of peace and quiet? Daisy Bank Touring Park takes adults only, and is tucked far from the madding crowd amidst heavenly hills on the Wales-Shropshire border. The hardstanding, serviced pitches have free wifi and luxe bathroom facilities, and there’s a shop which sells homemade local tucker, plus a large, enclosed exercise area for Fido. Relaxation is the name of the game here, so the on-site entertainment is low key: have a go at the free pitch and putt, or borrow something from the book and DVD library. Many guests spend their time exploring the seductive scenery surrounding the site, walking along Offa’s Dyke path, Kerry Ridgeway, the Severn Way, or in the Shropshire Hills (Long Mynd and the Stiperstones are both nearby).

Meadow and Kerry fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Excellent facilities - fully serviced hardstanding was large and well maintained. Facilities block was well equipped and clean with large shower rooms. Deliberate lack of lighting on site at night for stargazing. Dog walk was nice (even though I don’t have a dog). Friendly staff and complimentary food waste bag on arrival.

Disliked: Some people may be uneasy about lack of lighting on site. Toilets are incredibly slow filling due to rainwater system (due to eco constraints) but willing to accept that for sustainability. A little out of town so limited options to visit pubs on foot.

Meadow and Kerry fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Friendly warm welcome on arrival.
Fantastic pitch with lovely views.
Spotless toilet/shower facilities.
Excellent dog walking area that is fully enclosed.

Disliked: What I thought initially was a brilliant idea, the metered electric.
I had no idea how much electricity our motorhome consumes for just heating. The £3 allowance per night was used up in a matter of hours. So the cost per night of £32 was quite expensive when having to purchase extra credit - which we didn't we used our gas.
No pavements off the site which is on a fast A road so transport is needed if you are wanting to go anywhere.

Route directions

Please do not try to use satnavs in the last five miles of your journey: they will try to take you down lanes that are neither suitable for a caravan nor necessary to go down. The site is on the A489 between Craven Arms and Churchstoke. If travelling east on the A489 from either Welshpool or Newtown follow the signs for Craven Arms once in Churchstoke. Pass Harry Tuffins garage and supermarket on your right. Daisy Bank is a further two miles on the righthand side of the road. If travelling via Shrewsbury, take the A488 sign posted from the A5 to Bishops Castle. It is approximately 30 minutes from the A5. The turning onto the A489 is a very sharp one to your right travelling down hill towards the village of Lydham. Check the map and follow it carefully so as not to miss the turn. If travelling from Craven Arms, take the A489 and follow all signs to Newtown. The site is signposted from Lydham and is approximately two miles on the lefthand side.
