What customers say
Visitors praised the beautiful setting, riverside location, and direct access to woodland walks. The facilities, particularly the clean, modern, and private toilet/shower cubicles, were consistently highlighted as exceptional. Staff were frequently described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The site's proximity to local amenities, including a pub and shop, was also a significant plus. While some mentioned minor issues like limited Wi-Fi or a lack of on-site shop essentials, the overall sentiment was overwhelmingly positive, with many recommending the site and expressing a desire to return.

Brilliantly organised campsite with excellent facilities
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked This is the best campsite we’ve stayed at in Scotland in terms of organisation and comfort.
Check-in was quick and efficient, and a member of staff even drove us to our pitch in a small electric golf cart and helped with parking.
The facilities are outstanding:
- Eight individual shower/toilet blocks, each with its own outside entrance. All showers, cubicles and toilets are modern and in excellent working order.
- Laundry facilities with 9 kg and 20 kg washing machines plus a dryer, all payable by bank card – no need for coins.
- A warm, well-lit utility block for dishwashing and other chores, which also includes a children’s playroom.
- A separate outdoor playground for kids on the campsite grounds.
Staff were also very welcoming and provided detailed information about both the campsite and local leisure options, which was extremely helpful for planning our stay.
Overall, everything is well thought through and maintained to a very high standard.
Disliked The only minor inconvenience was that the hairdryer works only with 20p coins. We didn’t have any cash with us, so it wasn’t very practical. Perhaps reception could have helped, but we didn’t ask.

Fab couple of nights stay here.…
Camping pod
Liked Fab couple of nights stay here. The pods were clean and ready for us on arrival. The gentleman checking us in was fab and was very knowledgeable of the local area! The toilets/shower's were immaculate and so warm. My daughter loved the children's park and made some lovely friends.
We would definitely stay again.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked Absolutely loved my stay at Black rock park 💯%, very peaceful, very clean well loved after place. The gentleman who met me and shown me to our plot was very welcoming, very polite. He informed me of what was in the village. He told me about the forest walk which I ventured in to in the evening. I stayed at beginning of my trip and at the end of my trip.

Swordale camping pod (deluxe, four person, no pets)
Liked Awesome host, beautiful quiet location and incredibly cosy little pod! Perfect for what we needed. We were a day late due to car issues and Martin was very understanding and kept in contact the whole time. Once we eventually arrived he was there in minutes and showed us to our spotlessly clean and very well equipped holiday home. It was perfect! We will definitely be back next year ! I will recommend to anyone that will be travelling up there. Out group of 3 had additional needs adults and everything was fast smooth and most importantly stress free. Can’t recommend enough.
Disliked Nothing. It’s all brilliant. Everything you could ever need. We had additional needs adults in our group of 3 and it was completely ideal.
