  • Family-run Cloghane pub campsite on the Wild Atlantic Way
  • Conor Pass, Fermoyle Strand and Brandon Point all 10 minutes’ drive
  • Seafront pitches with stunning views of Brandon Bay and Mount Brandon
Appreciate spectacular views? Well… O’Connors Campsite has them in spades. This peaceful County Kerry stopover on the Dingle Peninsula has a spacious camping field where you can pick your own pitches overlooking Brandon Bay on the long-distance Wild Atlantic Way. Stay a while on this quiet, family-run campsite between the sea and the mountains of West Kerry, and you’ll surely fall in love with the stunning outlook to Mount Brandon and surrounding peaks. There are also numerous gorgeous beaches within 10 minutes’ drive, with Dingle and Castlegregory both about 15 minutes away. Any kids travelling with you will probably also fall in love with the small farm animals on site too. If you’re on for some good wholesome Irish craic during your stay, all you need to do is hotfoot it into O’Connors pub adjacent to the site, where you’ll receive a warm welcome, home-cooked pizzas and curries, and a lively line in music from local musicians. When you’re not feeling quite so sociable, the pub also does takeaways for you to carry back to your pitch, or you can spark up the barbecue – perhaps just in time to witness a stunning sunset on a clear day. If you are going down the self-catering route, there’s a convenience store selling essentials, pastries and pasties five minutes’ stroll away around the bay.

What customers say

This campsite boasts an exceptional location with stunning views. Visitors frequently praise the friendly staff and the on-site pub for its good food and atmosphere. However, facilities, particularly toilets and showers, are consistently described as basic, dated, and sometimes inadequate for the number of guests, with some reporting issues with cleanliness and payment for showers. Despite this, many find the location and overall experience to be great value.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Great location and fantastic views. Level pitches. Pub with food and drinks onsite. We had electric and water on our pitch.
Not five star but has potential.

Disliked Sadly the toilets let it down…only two toilets and two showers and they were not clean with no toilet paper.. but basic and usable.
No campers kitchen.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked The view

Disliked The rest. Paid in advance or would not have stopped. £30 daylight robbery...
The toilets and showers were Disgusting.
No excuses, if you are making hundreds of euros a night then the facilities should be useable.
Give it a wide berth ...

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked One of the most scenic campsites in Ireland, on the edge of Brandon Bay. Lovely hard standing pitches in a relaxed & friendly campsite. We stayed with our dog came for 1 night stayed for 3. There’s a shop 3 mins walk away, several beaches and the site is part of a popular traditional pub which serves breakfast & dinner. Live music 🎵 was lovely. Owner is a friendly welcoming person. We are a mature couple but also perfect for young families.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (two person)

Liked Fantastic facility, local pub and restaurant and gorgeous area to pitch your tent. Breakfast is available the next morning. Located very close to Mount Brandon parking area.

Disliked The bathroom and shower facilities left a lot to be desired. Showers €1 for 5 mins and the box is outside the shower room. Bathrooms often smelly and often ran out of toilet paper. More bathrooms and showers badly needed!!

Non-electric grass tent pitch (two person)

Liked Lovely location

Disliked Toilet and shower facilities well below standard. Only 2 communal toilets and showers. Floor wet and dirty. Towel laid on floor inside door for people to wipe feet on??? No soap in dispenser. Token for shower outside shower door. It’s a pity the facilities are so bad as the location is perfect

Disliked Washrooms were shocking - not cleaned or filled up with loo roll or soap. Only 2 toilets and showers for the whole site (unisex) which was not enough at times.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Great views of the bay and mountains. Pitches were well organised but pre-allocated. We were lucky and got a very spacious one right by the water's edge. The management and staff in the pub were very friendly. We ate an evening meal in the pub which was nice. It was a little noisy in the evening but became very quiet and peaceful after 10/10.30. There's a small shop 5-10 minutes walk away where you can stock up on food. Lots of birds to see and hear, we clocked at least 9 different species.

Disliked It was a little weird to start with going into the toilets, it felt as if you were going into the back of someone's house. There were only 2 unisex toilets and only 2 unisex showers for quite a big site. No washing up area.

Local attractions

If you’re planning on attending the Féile Lughnasa festival (the last full weekend of July), book your stopover at O’Connors Campsite well in advance to enjoy several days and nights of music and singing, sand-sculpture competitions, pet shows, a vintage-car exhibition and a pilgrimage up Mount Brandon (about an hour’s walk). There are many other walks in the locality, ranging from short strolls around Brandon Bay to harder slogs up to Arraglen Ogham Stone (two and a half hours), where there’s also a memorial to a crashed military plane as well as far-reaching views over moorland hills to the Atlantic Ocean. Otherwise, try sections of the Dingle Way, a walking trail that winds around the whole peninsula. Driving the rugged coastal Wild Atlantic Way? West Kerry sights on your itinerary might include the narrow, twisting drive through Conor Pass, dotted with lakes and waterfalls, the soft sandy beach at Fermoyle Strand (just the spot for family picnics) and the viewing deck with ocean vistas at Brandon Point (all 10 minutes).
