What customers say
Litton Lakes is praised for its beautiful location, friendly staff, and spacious pitches. The lake is a major highlight, popular for swimming and paddleboarding, with a cafe and nearby pub also well-received. Facilities are generally clean, though some guests noted issues with water pressure and a lack of lights in the toilet block. While many enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, some found it too busy or noisy, particularly with large groups. There's a consensus that improvements to toilet and shower facilities would be beneficial.

Excellent site, with clean facilities and friendly staff. Hidden gem!
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked We had a fantastic stay. The lake was beautiful and the cafe had great coffee. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The site is really family friendly and we will be back again soon!
Disliked Only small issue was with the water pressure that was a bit sporadic, but the site are working on that.

The staff are lovely and friendly and the lake is brilliant.
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked The lake was a great attraction at the park, everyone had so much fun paddle boarding on the water.
Disliked The showers, very poor water pressure. People shouting to others to turn of taps ect.

An amazing site which we will definitely be returning to.
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked *Friendly staff at check in
*Large pitches
*Beautiful views
*Huge open field for the kids to play
*Amazing paddleboarding/swimming lake which kept our kids entertained for hours
*Clean grounds
*Dog walking field
Disliked *The toilets nearest to the lake weren't very clean and sadly didn't smell great at all. No soap in dispensers on several visits. Yes we could have phoned the warden and reported it, but to be honest we had expected the toilets to have been cleaned regularly and that this would have been sorted.
* Most non electric pitch campsites we've visited recently have a shared fridge and or freezer. This would be a great addition at Litton Lakes.

Non-electric grass pitch

Generous pitch size,

Sustainable.
Beautiful area and lake.
Disliked FYI - water pressure is low for showers and hand washing. Not a negative, it’s ties in with sustainability and the solar power.

Loved The lake (of course and…
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Loved The lake (of course and especially in the peace and quiet early in the morning before 9.30 when the day visitors arrive en masse and after 6 when most have gone home), the darkness and the stars at night, the peaceful countryside surroundings, the easy footpath to the pub, the ecofriendly off grid ethos, kids loved the tractor to climb on, felt safe and child friendly
Disliked The campsite was much bigger and busier than I expected from the website and pitches packed in close, which detracted from the peaceful quiet getaway I was anticipating, felt like at least double the size, there was often a (short) queue for the shower or toilet and the hot water was flaky and intermittent, with no temperature control

The campsite was in a lovely location but showers are an issue
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked The lake was great. Clean and accessible
Disliked There is an issue with the showers. If anyone else is in any of the showers or toilets/sinks then there is no water in the showers. This meant it was very difficult to have a shower. It was the talk of the campsite. We raised the issue but were just told they didn’t have sufficient water.

Really lovely site, clean facilities, friendly attentive staff
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked The site is very clean and well kept, lovely location and the lake is beautiful , we had a lot of fun - thankyou !
If we needed anything staff were available. New toilet block is great. Good site for children- the carpark is between the lake and the campsite so safe for children
Disliked The water pressure for the showers is an issue when there is more than one person using the showers. It also comes through cold at times. So it would be great if this could be improved. After being in the Lake you want a nice hot shower.
Apart from this the showers are clean and spacious and when they work well, are lovely.

Clean site, great location, lots of space for families and dogs.
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Everything about this site, bar the showers (see ‘disliked’). We visited on August Bank Holiday weekend - Probably one of the busiest times of the year. The site was clean, the toilets were replenished regularly, the grounds were maintained to perfection. I’ll definitely visit again. The lake was crystal clear, and plenty big enough for all the guests to freely enjoy. There is a HUGE dog walking field, and a pub just a few minutes walk away. The pitches are nice and level, the on site wardens are friendly. Fire pits are available for hire (I would recommend- They are fantastic), but take your own logs, kindling and fire lighters (the site do sell these, but naturally they are a little over priced). There is no WiFi on site but I had no issues whatsoever getting hood reception on my phone. Also there is lots of opportunity to pitch and spend time either in the sun or in the shade of the trees - This made it comfortable over a hot weekend.
Disliked The showers - These are solar heated so morning showers are very cold, and when the water has warmed up and a few people are showing at a time, the water is less than a trickle. I ended up washing with warm water in my tent, as it really was not feasible to use the showers provided. This really does need to be improved to make it fully 5 star site (or a full 10 star review). But don’t let this put you off staying (as I said - I will visit again), but make provisions (I plan to take my own solar shower next time). On a final note (if your being really picky), the cafe has limited opening hours - This seems like such a missed opportunity (perhaps it is linked to their licensing?). But if the cafe could cater to more demand, have longer opening hours and provide a fuller menu I think it would really compliment the site.
