Hidden gem, and an escape from reality.
Big Field electric optional grass pitch
Liked Pitches were spacious and all equipped with electric hookup if you want it. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The site is very quiet and tucked away, but there is a town about a miles walk up the road with a Tesco Express and a pub. The toilets, showes and washing facilities were well kept, and there is even a games room with a pool table and a dartboard.
Disliked Nothing to dislike - its just a tucked away quiet campsite.

Liked I was met with a lovely warm welcome from the owner who gave me the rundown on the site. Loved the peace and quiet, views, and very spacious pitches. The facilities where clean and the morning shower was lovely and warm. Pub down the road was very quiet but did a decent burger.

From the manager: Good afternoon, and thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your stay at Huntick Retreat didn’t meet your expectations and that you found our toilet waste and ablution facilities basic, cold, and sparse. We’re also disappointed to hear you felt the pitch was ‘rough,’ especially as we had regraded all pitches and tidied the edges just the week before to prepare for the new season. While we don’t offer refunds for early departures, we’re sorry you became unwell and had to cut your holiday short.
Regards
