  • Simple, peaceful campsite on the north Cornwall coast
  • Mawgan Porth five minutes' drive; 15 minutes to Padstow
  • Access to Porthcothan Bay and the South West Coast Path
Set just inland from the north Cornwall coast, Seaview Stays has lovely, open views across the surrounding valley. While it's not visible from all of the pitches, guests can catch partial sea views from various points around the site – and facing west, the sunsets can be very memorable. Just five minutes' drive away from St Eval and near several sandy beaches, it's a peaceful and well-placed base for exploring the coast. Pitches are on a slight slope, so make sure to check the pics before you arrive. Coast lovers of all stripes should be in their element here – there are excellent walks along the South West Coast Path to Bedruthan Steps or Mawgan Porth from the site, or you can just stroll through the farm to reach Park Head, Porth Mear Cove or the sands of Porthcothan Bay, a splendid spot for paddling and bodyboarding as well as scenic sunset picnics. Can't get enough? Top spots like Newquay and Padstow aren't far off either. This is a laidback and pleasingly spacious site that welcomes families, groups and dogs and is pretty relaxed about things like barbecues and campfires. Simple facilities include basic toilets, coin-operated hot showers, drinking water taps and a chemical waste disposal facility. There's no wifi on site, but most guests can get a strong 4G signal. Mawgan Porth (five minutes' drive) and Padstow (15 minutes) are your closest places for shops and places to eat, but there's also a shop at Porthcothan Bay for snacks, coffees and ice creams and a nice tearoom a little over a mile away.

What customers say

This back-to-basics campsite offers spacious, open fields with excellent views, ideal for stargazing and sports, and is praised for its quiet atmosphere and proximity to the beach and coastal path. While the setting is beautiful and staff are lovely, some guests found the toilet and shower facilities to be basic, with issues regarding availability of toilet roll and inconsistent hot water.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Really enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, good location. Showers and toilets, although they are basic, they were both clean and functional. Large site, so no need to camp on top of each other. Most pitches are on a slight hill.
Priced very fairly too.

Disliked The wind and rain through the night!

Liked Everything ❤️ the open space, the closeness to the beach also the facilities were clean and regularly checked. There was no WiFi, which is a great plus with two young kids, they played bat and ball, read books, bubbles and with not a tablet in site.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked LOVED the basic-ness of it (if that is a word). Simple, bog standard which adds to the simplicity of the park.
Facilities included electric & non-electric large plots, 2 clean toilets, 2 warm showers, 1 hand wash sink & soap, 1 dish washing area, and amazing views! Not overcrowded.

The local beach is close enough to walk to, so make sure you bring your body board.

There are some amazing walks to be had and especially at sunset by the cliffs- get the right sky for it and it’s truly magical sight. You can’t get more back to nature than that!

Electric grass pitch

Liked Alex the young man who owns/manages the site was lovely...so friendly and helpful. We were able to have a fire/bbq in a fire pit. The location was amazing. Loved how basic this site is...quite nostalgic having to walk through the field with a torch. The toilets and showers had no lights in them but this was nostalgic for me and our daughters thought it was quant. The lack of wifi was a bonus for the children to do something other than go on their phones and for me to switch off, but was an issue as I had some unexpectant emergencies that were difficult to manage with no phone reception.

Disliked The water tasted strange but this is probably not something to do with the campsite.
Very little phone reception...again not the campsites fault.
Only having 2 showers and 2 toilets was at times an issue and the site was almost empty. It would be more of an issue when the site is busy.
The dishwashing station had no shelter or hot water...but not an issue for us because we had adequate wet weather gear, and boiled a kettle for hot water but may be an issue for those who would like more creature comforts.

Electric grass pitch

Liked The sea views were stunning, especially the sunsets over the ocean. The site itself was clean and spacious, with the owner regularly checking in to make sure everything was running smoothly. Toilets and showers were spotless and well-maintained. We even had a visit from the site cat, who was absolutely gorgeous and made our stay even more memorable. The owner is friendly and helpful.

Disliked Not much to dislike, just be aware that the data signal is weak, so it’s worth downloading a few films before you go. That said, it’s perfect if you’re looking to unplug and enjoy a bit of off-grid peace and quiet.

Liked Nice quiet location. Was kept very clean and the toilets were always clean and stocked.
