  • On the Lizard Peninsula with a huge range of family facilities
  • Indoor and outdoor heated pools; pirate-themed crazy golf; soft play
  • Activities including evening entertainment, family films, kids' clubs
Smugglers’ coves, gorgeous beaches, fishing ports and colourful market towns await you at this park on the Lizard Peninsula. Lizard Point Holiday Park (formerly known as Mullion Holiday Park) is a firmly family-friendly site, so there's a great selection of facilities, including heated outdoor (open from May to mid-September) and indoor pools (where visitors can also book in for PADI diving lessons), a plethora of sporting activities, modern bars and restaurants, and all-singing, all-dancing action in the entertainment club. The littlies will have a ball in the pools (and slides, chutes and tunnels) of the Crazy Caves soft play area, and the pirate-themed crazy golf course and outdoor adventure playground should provide gallons of giggles too. A kids' library, family film screenings and the assortment of goings on at the various kids’ clubs means there’s plenty to keep them occupied whatever the weather (although the Lizard is the most southerly point in the UK, so if it’s going to turn out nice anywhere, it should be here).

Ok at best. Avoid “The Ghetto” shower block as they have better ones.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Site as a whole was decent with enough things to do. Something let it down.

Disliked: Old shower block on the camp site. It is terrible and can only be described as a “Ghetto”. The toilets have minimal to no flush meaning there’s often poo left in them, and the showers are rank! Old, and run down with rubbish pressure to them. They literally cut in and out when you are showering. You’d get more chance having a good wash by being pee’d on. The annoying part is they don’t tell you there’s an almost new shower area on the Medows. It’s tucked behind a wall/bush/caravan on the right hand turn as you enter the caping area. They’re in portacabins and loads better than “The Ghetto”. Pretty annoyed as we paid good money for the facilities that they are keep quiet about for some reason. 3* is about max I’d give based on this as it lets the place down for camping.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The children lived the extra activities on offer.

Disliked: Everything looked very tired. The toilet facilities were awful. No one cleaned them or re stocked the loo roll in the three days we were there. There was no proper washing up area for campers either.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Great flat pitch next to toilet block ( The Croft) with electric hook up. Great entertainment facilities.

Disliked: Toilet block wasn’t cleaned once while we were there. Large bins overflowing with rubbish onto road leading down to tent pitches. If you were pitched down on the meadows pitch then quite far to walk to toilet block!

Local attractions

The scenery around the park is stunning – not for nothing has the Lizard been given an official stamp as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – which makes for some spectacular clifftop walks. It's not far from Land's End or the rather lovely St Michael’s Mount either. The local Blue Flag beaches offer a good range of watersports, including kitesurfing and sea kayaking. Serious thrill seekers should check out the adventure centre at Lusty Glaze beach, where they can test their mettle with water, land and cliff activities. Many of Cornwall’s top family attractions are found nearby: potter among the plant life under the giant domes of the Eden Project, or head to Newquay Zoo or the National Seal Sanctuary in the Helford Estuary for some close encounters of the animal kind. There are a couple of good theme parks, too: the Flambards Experience and the Crealy Great Adventure Park. If you’d like to uncover a bit more of the heritage of this Cornish corner, pay a visit to Poldark, an 18th-century tin mine, or the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth.
