Shady spots and sunny spots for you sun lovers

  • Dog-friendly pop-up site in a spacious four-acre field
  • A 10-minute drive from beaches and 15 minutes from Milford on Sea
  • A 10-minute walk from a microbrewery, spa, vegan café and restaurant
Whether you’re paddleboarding on local beaches, pursuing outdoor activities in the New Forest or mooching around the nearby towns, there’s a great balance between civilisation and peaceful countryside at In Nature Camping in Dorset. Under a mile from the edge of the New Forest National Park and 10 minutes’ drive away from beaches, there’s lots on the agenda here: days at the beach, visits to nearby historic towns and properties, shopping or even chilling with a spa treatment at the venue a short walk away. Also within 10 minutes' walk of the site is a vegan café and a restaurant. There’s a microbrewery 10 minutes' walk away, which serves drinks like small-cask beer, handcrafted ales and ‘unfined’ beer. A five-minute drive away, there’s another café with pick-your-own farm produce activities - how lovely. The closest beaches for strolls, snoozes, swimming and the likes are Avon beach (10 minutes), Highcliffe beach (10 minutes) Barton-on-sea beach (10 minutes). As for interesting local towns with shops and cafés, make your way to Highcliffe (five minutes), Christchurch (10 minutes), New Milton (five minutes) and Milford on Sea (15 minutes). The main road from Lyndhurst to the coast runs just a short distance from the field, making it nice and easy to access local attractions. What about the place you’ll be calling home for your Dorset holiday? Off-grid, it’s very much a wildlife haven. Try your hand at self-sufficiency (barbecues and firepits are allowed, weather conditions permitting) or grab your meals locally. There are four hot showers, six toilets and two washing-up sinks for those of you who decide to dust off the old camp stove and try cooking under the stars.

Non-electric grass and earth motorhome pitch

Liked A chilled spacious perfectly located flat field. The manager was helpful and welcoming

Disliked The toilets were unusable by the morning of our stay (bank holiday weekend) so we left early (8am) just so we could go to the toilet. Just 2 ladies and 2 men’s portaloos in a field with hundreds of people.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked Pitch are overall very flat.

Disliked During our stay from 23rd to 25th August 2025, open fires (even on fire pit) were prohibited on site due to the increased risk of wildfires caused by the recent dry weather.
One of our main reasons for camping was to enjoy a campfire and BBQ, so it was disappointing that we couldn’t use any fire.
The toilets were portable units, with only two available for each gender. They quickly became full and were not comfortable to use.
There was only one kitchen sink and four showers, which were clearly insufficient for the number of campers—around 100 parties. These facilities were constantly crowded.

From the manager: Hi we have 8 toliets on site always clean.
Can’t believe you are so stupid to complain about not having a bbq in the hot dry conditions

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked Big space
Close to beach

Disliked As stated on the description it says BBQs are allowed raised off the ground. We bought with us a BBQ and the food to cook on it. When we arrived at the campsite we were told there was a fire ban and no fires were permitted which also included BBQs. This meant that we were unable to eat any of the food we had bought with us. We were not informed before hand that this was the case. I understand that some weather conditions may prevent fires from being used but there should be some notice given to campers when booking or at least some time before they arrive.
Despite the BBQ ban it was really frustrating to see other campers using a BBQ when we had been told we were not allowed to use it. A lot of money and time wasted on getting the BBQ and food. This really disrupted our trip and caused stress which could have been avoided if we were given even some notice that this was the case?

In addition to this there were only a small amount of toilets for the large campsite and these portaloos were really quite smelly we only used them comfortably for the first night and after this they were blocked, overflowing and smelt bad.

From the manager: I really can’t believe you are completely mad to think you can have a bbq in this weather we have had no rain wildfires all around and your moaning.
Two of our toliets broke which were fixed soon as possible

Nice stay but would not return unless the facilities were improved.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked The campsite was very peaceful with a lovely walk to a brewery. Check in process was easy.

Disliked The facilities were very poor- the toilets consisted of 8 porta - loos which was definitely not enough for a busy bank holiday weekend. Sometimes they were so full up they couldn’t be used and were very smelly and unhygienic.

From the manager: Toliets cleaned every two hours. I can’t believe the state they get in come on guy use toliets keep them clean not my job to clean up after adults god knows how some of these people behave at home. You make a mess clean up after yourself

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked Nice hot shower unit that worked well, but should have 1 per field. Level grass. Dog friendly and nice fellow campers. Nice to enjoy the stars as no light pollution. For those that wanted, nice touch at weekend with pizza van and ice cream man.

Disliked Dissapointing that this was a very basic campsite and was not getting the basics right- regular emptying of portaloo toilets at a bank holiday weekend. By sunday night they were all full and monday no chance of using the toilet. Poor rubbish collection option (no recycling just food and non food) and no big bins so naturally people were leaving a mound of rubbish. Only 1 washing up area for 2 fields so always ques for that area. There were plenty of taps but with no area to put your things was tricky to wash at the taps as they were solely there for drinking water really. Simple set up and didn't get much for the price paid.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked Simple and relaxed camping. Toilets were relatively clean and there was an on-site pizza truck that was there both nights we stayed. There was also an ice cream van one day.

Non-electric grass and earth motorhome pitch

Liked Nice location.
Friendly staff.
Pizzas!

Disliked Pricey.
Not in that in Nature- more like a festival! Not enough loos/showers for the madness of the bank holiday weekend. Should limit provision really to maintain space and vibe.
Lots of traffic with kids playing. No visible fire kit - accident waiting to happen in this tinder dry spell.

Local attractions

Work your way outwards, starting with the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (five minutes’ drive) and the Romantic-style Highcliffe Castle (five minutes). The beach has access to the beach and a nature reserve, but for more cool habitats and wild animals, Hengistbury Head (20 minutes) should also be on your radar. Milford on Sea (15 minutes) is also just over the way. There, you’ll certainly get your watersports fix. There are ferries to Hurst Castle, an artillery fort at sea with links to the formidable Henry VIII. Further along the coast is the sailing hub of Lymington (20 minutes). To the north, your New Forest adventures might include the Go Ape course and cycling trails in the Moors Valley Country Park & Forest (half an hour). To the south, perhaps a big day out in Bournemouth (25 minutes), where surfing, kayaking and cycles on the prom might keep you occupied?
