What customers say
This campsite offers stunning views of the South Downs and sea, with a peaceful and spacious environment. Visitors consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the cleanliness of the facilities. The location is ideal for walking and close to Newhaven Ferry Port. While the facilities are described as basic, they are generally well-maintained. Some guests noted occasional issues with water pressure and wind due to the exposed hilltop location. Manager replies indicate ongoing efforts to address water pressure concerns and improve the site.

Great views of the South Downs.…
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Great views of the South Downs. 30 min walk to the Smugglers Rest pub. Toilets were clean. It is in the middle of nowhere.
Disliked Pitches are quite uneven. You will need good chock/blocks if you have a van.
Ladies toilets ran out of loo roll early on the Sunday morning.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: thank you for your feedback
there is a sign on the toilet roll holder for low on loo roll with the phone number on it for people to text us, as most people have unlimited texts.
we did get a text message, as soon as we got the text we refreshed the toilet roll immediately,
maybe it could have been sooner.
many thanks
Beautiful views however very windy. A lot of tents packed up early.
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The views
Local to Lewes.
Disliked The price
The steep hill climb.
Showers not very hot
Cold washing up facilities.
Not ideal for small children
Paid extra for my six year old even though we all slept in the van.
Mold in shower facilities.

From the manager: Thank you for your overall score of 10, though I am a little surprised considering the amount of dislikes you had for our site.
All facilities are clearly described including the fact that the showers are warm and not hot.
We have many young children camping here who love that they have the freedom and space to play safely.
The pitch price includes 2 people it is standard to charge for additional adults or children.
I am surprised there was mould in the shower as they are cleaned regularly and kept immaculate, however you do have to factor in we are on the top of the downs and it is October, hence the steep climb! Pay off for the exceptional views!
