Electric grass touring pitch
Liked: Lovely site, in a great area. It was quite busy with it being a bank holiday weekend but we were tucked into a corner in the far field so it still kept some of the feeling of remoteness. Very clean facilities and the honestly shop is a lovely touch. Good walk down to Kirkoswald and the Fetherstone Arms but we weren’t able to walk down the river as the weather was bad while we were there and it left the path down there very muddy (we didn’t take appropriate footwear!).
Disliked: We didn’t really have any dislikes! However, just to note, the River Site is a bit of a walk to the facilities, particularly when the weather isn’t great, but thankfully we didn’t need to use them much as we were in our caravan. Our pitch was also on quite a steep slope which made levelling it interesting! The owner was very friendly and helpful, asking if we needed a hand getting the caravan out given the bad weather. We ended up being fine, but the offer was gratefully received. what’s that board? There is a WiFi workshop but for some reason my phone didn’t work when connected to it. It must have worked for other people though as noticed people in there watching football over the weekend.

Liked: Nice large pitches , well kept lawn and spotlessly clean facilities. Robert and Caroline were very helpful even loaning us there shoes to go for a swim in the river. Honesty shop with crisps , pop, sweets and farm eggs and more. Easy to get to with beautiful villages nearby. Our 1st time this side of Penrith but won’t be our last .
Disliked: Nothing

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: We loved everything! Super spacious site, lovely and quiet: exactly what we wanted. Honestly it’s a lovely site, with level pitches and great owners. The kids had great fun in the play area and playing together in the field. Loved that parking was away from tents / pods meaning we could leave the kids to roam without worry. Facilities wise, the Wi-Fi room was helpful, the coffee / toast etc area looked really useful to those that needed it. The pot wash area was perfect (at the right height, indoors and with hot water). And the bathrooms were well stocked and clean.
Disliked: If I was super picky, the only one thing I’d say could be improved was if a squeegee was left out to help take care of the shower cubicles.

Liked: Everything. You’re welcomed warmly by the owners, who show a genuine interest and want to help you have an enjoyable stay. The facilities were clean. They had a WiFi room which was great for the children when it was raining. The kids had fun playing in the park and making friends. If you’re looking for activities to do locally, just ask the kind owners who will be more than happy to share ideas and recommendations.
