What customers say
Gill Head Farm is praised for its beautiful location, stunning views, and friendly, helpful staff. Visitors highlight the cleanliness of the pods, cabins, and facilities, including toilets and showers. The well-laid-out site features spacious pitches, and the communal room is a popular addition for bad weather. The farm's animals, including peacocks, are a hit with guests. While some mention noise from the nearby A66, the overall atmosphere is described as peaceful and relaxing. Problems mentioned in a few reviews, such as a broken microwave and power disruption, were addressed by management with prompt replacements and clear communication.

Very thoughtful campsite that catered for our every need!
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked We were really impressed with the campsite at Gill Head farm. We had a tent pitch with a spectacular view of Blencathra. I felt the facilities were really well thought out with good utilities and a nice common room with shared fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and space to sit and play games. Toilet/shower facilities were some of the best I've seen and the campsite itself was very well maintained. Extra points for the local knowledge of people running the place who were happy to direct us to some quiet local swimming spots. Can't wait to go back next year.
Disliked Can't think of anything I didn't like. We were fortunate enough to have beautiful weather however the small section we camped on could be quite exposed to wind in bad weather. There were plenty of other sheltered options available though.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Lovely site and views. Facilities were good
Disliked Owner puts big emphasis on not having large groups and focussed on these people at the ‘quiet time’ but a tent near me which was a single tent were playing music until 1:30 in the morning and nothing was said to them. I ended up having to leave a day early due to not been able to sleep with the noise. Also placed in a spot that was on a slope which was not ideal. Owner that greeted was also very stand offish and not very welcoming.
