Lovely site, in a peaceful setting.…
Electric grass touring pitch
Liked Lovely site, in a peaceful setting. Staff were friendly and checked that everything was ok. Plenty of space between pitches. Shower and toilet block well maintained and clean. Bonus to have the walk into the forest.
Disliked We stopped at the Roost for a drink after our walk, we chose a table outside on the artificial grass as we have a dog and were immediately told that dogs are only allowed to sit on the patio. The patio has two tables both of which were full. We were told we can go for a walk and come back! Needless to say we didn’t bother! The site is dog friendly yet the bar/restaurant isn’t accommodating which was disappointing.

Liked It was our first stay at Swallow Hall, it certainly won't be our last. Owners were so friendly and helpful. Very spacious pitches . Toilet/shower block really nice too. The Clubhouse a short stroll from site, which also serves food. We didn't sample this time but looked amazing. Closest Village a bit of a walk (50 minutes) but wasn't too bad as it was a lovely day .

A great site if you want to get some downtime.

Liked Lovely peaceful site, spacious pitches with really clean facilities.
Disliked No WiFi onsite. WiFi only available in the onsite restaurant. Some would argue this is not a bad thing, but we use this for the TV.

Toilet block was nice and new and clean we would definitely come back
Electric grass touring pitch
Liked The campsite itself was lovely spacious and quiet, the only phone signal we got was from my phone which was on EE and enough to stream via my hotspot to my firestick which was nice, tv signal was good so no problems, we loved the fact it was part of the golf course and the drive into the site was lovely , the area suited us to use as a base to explore what North Yorkshire has to offer , there’s no club house or reception so to speak of just pick your pitch when you arrive which I really liked.
Disliked The only thing that lets this site down is the onsite bar called the roost , I must say from the get go when we went in there to have a drink maybe socialise we were treated as if we were not welcome , we was definitely not , the lady behind the bar is not a credit to the place and should not be customer facing , unfriendly and a tad rude in my opinion, we had a dog with us and was told quite rudely that it had to go on the small patio outback which we did , but they didn’t even move the rope barricade at the back so my partner had to climb under it we tried the roost a second time to see if it was a once off it definitely was not again the same attitude, which surprised me seeing as we spent eleven pounds on two pints of cider , definitely not club prices ! We spoke to other visitors both had been coming for 20 years or so they told us they never go in there because of this , apparently the roost is not run by the owners of swallow hall it’s a separate entity so that probably explains a lot of things , but take it from us they certainly did not want us campers in there.

Would I stay again, 100%, one of the best in 15yrs of motorhoming.
Electric grass touring pitch
Liked Absolutely everything, the peace, the size of the pitches, the owners and staff, the superb toilet and shower facilities, the cleanliness and the food in the clubhouse was brilliant, plentiful and reasonably priced. The walk into the woods directly off the site was ideal and a good place to get away from the sun for the dogs.
Disliked There genuinely is nothing to dislike

Beautiful campsite! Will be back.

Liked A beautiful, quiet site with plenty of space and privacy. Beautifully clean facilities and easy to get into York. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to use the local onsite eatery, but "check-in" was easy and the site felt very safe.
