  • Small family-run park over two secluded acres
  • A mile and a half from Bedale: handy stopover for the A1
  • Play area with café easily accessible in the local village
Off to the Yorkshire Dales? Or might you prefer the moors? Or… a bit of both? Pitch up at Pembroke Caravan Park in the village of Leeming Bar: it's only a mile and a half from Bedale, the small market town with easy access to the Dales and set snugly in between both the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors national parks. (And it's a handy A1 stopover too if you're zooming up or down the country to or from elsewhere.) Pembroke is a friendly, family-run and popular little park set in two level and secluded acres. It has a cleanly-kept shower and toilet block, a laundry room, a chemical disposal point, and washing-up facilities. Barbecues are allowed on site. For drinks and dinner, a pub is in the local village and a small supermarket is 400 metres away. Please note that while there's no play area on site and ball games aren't allowed, a large play area (with café) is easily accessible in the local village.

What customers say

This well-maintained, clean, and friendly site is praised for its excellent location, conveniently close to the A1 for stopovers and exploring Yorkshire. Visitors highlight the spotless facilities and the helpful, welcoming owners. While a few mention occasional road or aircraft noise and the limitation of single showers, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many recommending it and planning return visits.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Everything, absolutely immaculate well kept site, close to A1m but you honestly wouldn't know it, we really couldn't hear the road noise.owner was really friendly too, if you're interested in going here I've done a couple of youtube videos, first is a look around the site, the second is things to do in the area plus a aerial drone footage of the site, either just search for the caravan site or search for my channel Mickoutdoors 😀👍

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Not a big site which is what I like, it was mostly quiet & peaceful and dog friendly. There is a field close by where i could walk my dogs and a dog poo bin on the entrance to the site which was handy. People were friendly. Toilet blocks were well maintained and clean. The owner gave us a choice of pitch on arrival and even reversed our van into its spot for us.

Disliked Only had the one shower cubicle in the toilet block.
Nothing on site for young children to do.
The site is situated near a main road, could hear traffic throughout the night but not enough to prevent us visiting again.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely little spot a few minutes from the A1 and a 5 min walk to Leeming Bar with parks, cafes and the Wensleydale station.
The facilities were clean and easily accessible. The large hedges keep any road noise to a minimum so it was a peaceful little pitch.

Local attractions

One of the most spiffing things about the immediate area around Pembroke Caravan Park is the recently refurbished Wensleydale Railway, a short and non-puffy stroll away at the station of Leeming Bar. This takes scenery seekers on a 22-mile journey up into the Yorkshire Dales on its route from Northallerton to Garsdale – and as it's Yorkshire, you'll rightly guess it's all highly pretty too. Specialist local goods, services and shops are at the nearby market towns of Bedale and Northallerton, and a little further will take explorers to other worthy Yorkshire towns like Leyburn and Masham. Many of the highlights of the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales national parks are also within easy driving distance of Pembroke, like Brontë and James Herriot country, more steam railways, old ramparts like Richmond Castle and, towards the east, access to Scarborough, Whitby and the wild Yorkshire coast.
