Beverley: come for the horse-racing, and stay for the excellent walks nearby, the attractions at the redeveloped docks in Hull (15 minutes’ drive), or rugged North Sea beaches (half an hour). And when you do decide to make a weekend (or a week) of it, bring the dog along and stay at Beverley Holiday Park, just on the outskirts of this historic East Yorkshire market town (it’s 10 minutes’ drive from the town centre). Well-kept hardstanding touring pitches at the park are sheltered by mature trees and all have electric hook-ups; there are also modern toilet and shower blocks. The prettily landscaped site stretches over 44 acres with several lakes, so you’ve plenty of options for exercising any accompanying dogs. While there isn’t a shop, you only need to take a five-minute walk along the main road (the A164) to reach a shopping area with two supermarkets, a fast-food restaurant, coffee shop and petrol station. And of course, there are many more shopping (and dining) options in Beverley itself.

Liked Pretty location with ponds scattered around.

Disliked Put on a static pitch so no dropped kerb to drive on to. Being charged £2.50 per person to use the showers on top of the pitch fee, and having to faff about trying to get hold of staff when you arrive outside of office hours in order to purchase the shower tokens. Showers were however clean.

It has great potential for both statics and tourer, work in progress.

Liked Great location, and plenty of space on the pitch.

Disliked £2.50 for a shower, clean shower block but small for the number on site. Dusbins full, and no toilet paper in the middle of the day. Only one water point that we could find. This is site it not built to accommodate tourers and no doubt won't have them when the static business take off and the construction is complete.

Liked Nice and quiet site , lovely lad who works on site parked our van for us as I couldn't get it onto pitch. Couldn't reach the water but he helped us solve that.

Disliked Paying for showers even though I didn't as I used my own.

Liked Great friendly staff, nice clean site with clean toilet block , within walking distance to Beverly

Disliked The pitches are very awkward to get a caravan on because of the kerbs. You can't put a awning up because the pitches are cement, the toilet block is too small, there must have been 40 touring vans on site and only two showers and toilets. No water taps set up for fresh water.

Liked Piches are large and supplies on each pitch ie water and grey waste

Disliked Only two showers in men and women's toilet and you have to pay £2.50 for a shower most places are free

Liked Excellent site,very clean,genuinely the cleanest shower/toilet block I’ve seen,shower token is £2.50 which you think is a bit pricey but lasts at least 15 minutes,on site washer and dryers are superb,think there might be 6 of each

Disliked Nothing to dislike,stayed 3 nights whilst watching the rally

Liked Very polite young man on reception and showed us our pitch, clean toilets and play music

Disliked No Internet, no idea where grey waste, bins and toilet waste went. Charged for using showers and nothing there, it is for statics not touring. You put between the Statics, so they're making money until they get a static to put on the pitch.

Liked The lady who booked us in was extremely friendly and helpful.
Site is gorgeous and although there is work going on it had no effect to us.
Showers and toilet block was immaculate clean.
Good location as well a short walk into town

A jaunt into Beverley’s ancient centre rewards with the Gothic-style minster, cobbled streets lined with indie shops and restaurants, and the lively market on Wednesday and Saturday. Those of you with four-legged companions can give them a run on the sprawling Westwood parkland, and if you fancy a flutter on the horses, Beverley Racecourse (all 10 minutes’ drive) is open for flat racing on selected dates between April and September. Take a dive into the history of Hull (15 minutes) thanks to the Roman mosaics and Iron Age gold hoard found at Hull and East Riding Museum of Archaeology, or check out the recreated 1940s shops in the Streetlife Museum. When your kids are resistant to culture, you’ll doubtless find yourselves watching sharks and rays circle their aquarium at The Deep (half an hour), and there are also creepy-crawlies to view at Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo (25 minutes). If you’d rather observe wildlife in its natural setting, you might get to spot kingfishers and egrets in the wetlands at Tophill Low Nature Reserve (half an hour), or you can walk along the chalk cliffs at Flamborough Outer Headlands Nature Reserve (55 minutes) to watch the grey seal colony basking on the rocks below.
