Electric grass pitch
Liked: The site had a lot to offer, from crazy golf, escape room, kids playground, ample pitch space, cafe and cooked meals, water taps on pitches, nice people. Picnic benches. The four communal showers were basic but very clean, as we're the toilets. Lots of hooks.
Disliked: On information it said a race takes place on the first weekend of every month. But this visit wasn't then, which is why we thought we would book, but when we arrived we found there was an extra one, the only issue with this, was everyone who came with the runners, as well as runners were using all the toilets so couldn't use one! family members Sitting at empty pitch site benches, walking all around the site, including through our pitch, felt a bit intruded by them, plus felt our belongings were unsafe. Needs to have a bit of separation fence between campers and visitors. The sinks with toilets are all outside with no cover, so you get wet if it's raining, or washing your hands or teeth.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Peaceful, exceptionally spacious, well laid out, good facilities. We loved the chickens wandering free, the table tennis table in the shelter, and the very modern and clean bathroom facilities with a “glamping” level vibe. The vast football pitch and playground for kids was also a win! There is mini golf on site for a small additional fee.
Disliked: Being in the middle of an activity site. There is an adventure course on one side of you, which I can imagine gets noisy. Archery on the other side. It was all peaceful when we were there, but ruined the view a little and worried us for return visits in times like the summer holidays. That said, it is ideal for families looking for those additional paid things as entertainment, and our stay wasn’t at all disrupted by them. It is a very spacious and very well equipped site.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Family friendly camp site and all staff very obliging.
Disliked: Toilets showers wash up areas very tired and need renewing. But there is a male female shower/toilet in main building which is better

From the manager: Thanks for the review Our facilities are and for the foreseeable future will be 'rustic' . Behind the scenes the boiler was replaced a year or so ago and a new treatment plant put in to ensure plenty of hot water and plenty of space for waste to go. The inside showers and toilets are offered as an alternative for those who prefer. The wash up area consists of three good size sinks which are clean and all have hot water.

Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch (water hook-up)
Liked: Good dog walks from camp site & pubs, within walking distance.
Disliked: Pitch location next too main barrier in 'residential' part of the site. Extremely limited bus service from village to Bury St Edmunds.

From the manager: Thanks for the review Just for others reference - we do not have a 'residential' part of the campsite. There may have been a caravan or two (no more) that were staying longer than a week in that instance. On arrival we could have allocated an alternative pitch. Or for future bookings why not contact the campsite to find out where you will be located and request important aspects. When you book via an agency site the pitch is often automatically defaulted to the next available. Just ask! The buses run Mon - Sat to Bury St Edmunds in the mornings several times and back in the afternoons, last bus back around 5.30 from Bury. Parting thought - You will have severely knocked down my Pitch Up rating for things that really are not our fault but we do hope to see you again and will be more than happy to discuss which pitch will suit you best.

Liked: quietness and range of attractions / facilities available on site
Disliked: toilet / shower facilities not the greatest, but work was being carried out so didn't get the full picture

From the manager: Some updates to the facilities over the winter, not as much as we would have liked as 'rain stopped play' but we are always trying to improve and update something every year.
