Have you ever been to the Norfolk coast? Pine-ing to return or to see it for the first time? Come and stay at Pine Cones Caravan and Camping, near King's Lynn inland and Heacham and Hunstanton on the coastline – this is such a royally good region that King Charles and his cohorts have a pad at Sandringham just a mile away. If the king were camping, it's a fairly safe bet he would like the up to date and excellently kept amenities at Pine Cones too: 16 warm luxury bathrooms, all with their own shower, toilets, basin and storage racks; a roomy, indoors washing-up area with several sinks and plenty of drainer space; and a washing machine and dryer in a separate room to sort out the laundry. Once the essentials are sorted, send the kids off to the adventure playground to try out the treehouse, rope ladders and high level walkway, and settle down in the picnic area with coffee and eats… there's a coffee machine on site and the well-stocked shop sells a good selection of items including bread, milk, and fresh and frozen food. A selection of outdoor gym equipment is also available for the energetic holidaymaker. Off site, Pine Cones is about a mile from the nearest pub the Feathers, or trot off to award-winning the Coach and Horses. Both are in nearby Dersingham village, where there's also a supermarket, takeaway and coffee shop dishing up homemade cakes daily.

Liked Doing a tour around the east coast and stayed here just as storm Amy was finishing her vengeance. What an absolute cracking site couldn't fault anything even the road noise. Very friendly staff well looked after facilities. The walks around the area are plentiful (they even provide idiot proof instructions :-)). Bar on site pop up pizza and fish and chips nights, large pitches with full services can't fault it at all will be back.

Liked The site was very clean and well looked after, the staff were friendly and the pitches were all individual there were pods in some with heaters installed and there was covered shelters in other the shared toilets were cleaned everyday and the small bar what was opened during our stay was very friendly and the food was of a great standard

Disliked There was no dislikes that I could see

Liked Lovely and well kept site, very dog friendly. Great hosts. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Loved the facilities. Quiet overnight. Able to go for walks straight from the campsite.

Disliked Shame about the road noise, though the owners have tried hard with banking, trees and shrubs to reduce it

Liked The site office was very informative when we arrived about the pitch and the site
We stayed on pitch 25 near the play area lovely and level so no work needed on setting up
The showers where clean and worked well only once did I have to clean up after one of the other campers
The walks from site are good
Overall we where happy and will return to the site next year

Liked Lovely clean site. Excellent bathroom facilities. Didn’t try out the bar/cafe. Maybe try that next time.

Liked Shower and toilet facilities were excellent.
The pitch size was very good, having a serviced pitch was really good and a nice little touch was the picnic bench.
Ben's bar was excellent and the pizzas were very good indeed. Fantastic walks around the camp site too.

Local attractions

Beaches, historic houses, museums and festivals, tiny villages, market towns and fab family days out are all easily accessible from Pine Cones Caravan and Camping – after a day at Sandringham, but of course, to wave at the king first... Within a couple of miles, the deer safaris, farming activities and walking trails of Snettisham Deer Park and the sights and smells of Norfolk Lavender are both good options for a day out; Snettisham has an RSPB reserve too for those itching to twitch. But as you're probably in west/north Norfolk for the beaches, head to Heacham, Holkham and Hunstanton first, the closest sands to Pine Cones, and then take a trip to Brancaster 11 miles away; the family-friendly and very scenic sands of Sheringham, Cromer and Mundsley are a little further along the coast. (Also, the final scenes of Shakespeare in Love were filmed at Holkham, and all the beaches in these parts are fairly filmworthy, so bring your camera.) Other excellent options for days out include village hopping and shopping among the scenic sights of Dersingham, Holt, Fakenham, Aylsham and Burnham Market to pick up some local produce, or going along to one of Norfolk's festivals or events: there's usually something going on throughout the year. Pine Cones is also on the edge the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – bring walking boots, crabbing nets and plenty of room for picnics.
