Adventure play park
Adventure play park

  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding, open-top canoeing and the inflatable assault course Wipe Out. But! This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a mini four-wheel drive course for kids, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots is on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

What customers say

This is a spacious, well-located campsite, ideal for accessing the National Water Sports Centre and Nottingham. Pitches are generally good sized and flat, and the site is praised for its family-friendly atmosphere. While many visitors highlight clean facilities and helpful staff, a recurring concern is the condition and cleanliness of the toilet and shower blocks, with some also noting noise issues from other campers.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Ease of checking in and out, feast ice cream in shop...

Disliked No toilets on our field as they were out of order, water turned off to our field, noisy groups upto 11pm even though it says 9.30pm strict quiet time, no-one to police it, the toilets we had to use looked like they were never cleaned and replenished and were over crowded due to others out of order, emailed and never even had the decency to reply, it's a shame because it's a little goldmine if looked after...

Disliked The wi-fi didn’t work the whole weekend I was there as advertised. The nearest toilet block closed for the rest weekend due to a pump fault on the Friday night.
