  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids on site
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

What customers say

This campsite boasts a superb location, ideal for accessing Nottingham and the National Water Sports Centre. Visitors frequently praise the spacious pitches, friendly staff, and easy check-in process. While the site is generally clean and well-maintained, with good facilities, some reviews highlight concerns regarding dated or occasionally unkempt toilet and shower blocks. Nonetheless, its family-friendly atmosphere and proximity to activities make it a popular choice for many.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Well maintained facilities, easily accessible, nice amount of trees and green space. Good playground

Disliked Odd clientele behaviour, some people in cars repeatedly driving to and from the toilet block and revving engines/driving fast past the tourer caravans.

Liked Good location

Disliked This stay was harrowing. Traveller children causing mayhem! I had stuff taken, car scratched, my kids hurt and spat at. I wasn’t the only one. My camping neighbours left after being threatened and needed police escort to leave! A camper also had their diesel nicked. It was kid gang warfare right outside of my tent. The staff simply told me there was nothing they could do. I would say camp as far away from the play park as possible. However if you have kids do not leave them unsupervised up there

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Water sports centre next door

Disliked Absolutely appalling toilets, 4 hours and the excrement was still in the toilet seats, tissue all on the floor, disgusting and we’ve been to some basic toilets. I spoke to the staff and he stated he had cleaned them…. Well not in the 4 hours!! Such a disappointment as the site could be so much nicer.
Cleaning station filthy.
Travellers were causing an issue and nothing was done about it.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Loved the layout lovely grass pitches , plenty of electric hookups and drinking water taps
Lovely area

Disliked Plenty of toilets and showers , but
Filthy most of the time , even the disabled toilets filthy
No washing up station for disabled either
Plus no hot water to wash up in and sinks blocked for over a day
Shop not open hours said to open
Then 4 members of staff in just chatting when , important things needed doing as above

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Pitch ok

Disliked Toilets absolutely disgusting, not cleaned daily as they said they had been, 3 toilets in men’s were s**t high in one block , cleaner obviously didn’t check this, there are 4 dish washer sinks only 2 were usable as other 2 were blocked and full of greasy water from the time we arrived until the time we left ! The motor home service point may as well not have been there as it was sited in a corner that was impossible to drive on to

Electric grass pitch

Liked Activities for kids.

Disliked Where to start... No staff around, facilities unkept, rubbish bins massively over flowing. However it's the people on the park who the wardens cannot get to leave causing the problems. They come and take from your pitches, and our children got assaulted. Nothing to be done apparently

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Good pitch size. V easy check-in. Nice playground.

Disliked Horrible toilets. Smelly. Lots of the doors don’t lock. One person got locked in and had to be rescued by the maintenance team. Showers also smelly and so horrible I don’t use them. Pitch was next to a loud road.
The large inflatable obstacle course shown in the promotional video was not there much to my children’s disappointment.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Good size flat pitch, easily accessible.

Disliked Uncleanliness of toilet/shower facilities and generally around. Didn't see anyone cleaning the whole weekend, just topped up the toilet roll and hand wash.
Son's football was pinched. Didn't feel safe to leave anything unattended.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Stayed in rafters field toilet nearby and good size pitches, ice cream van visiting site was nice in this hot weather

Disliked Toilet doors kept braking during stay and wouldnt. Close properly, forcing us to go to the toilet in pairs to hold the door closed for one another. Park shown on pitchup with slides for kids is not nearby , is a 15-20 min+ walk down road opposite camp this wasnt clear as signage and maps for the site are poor
