  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids on site
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

What customers say

This campsite boasts a superb location, ideal for accessing Nottingham and the National Water Sports Centre. Visitors frequently praise the spacious pitches, friendly staff, and easy check-in process. While the site is generally clean and well-maintained, with good facilities, some reviews highlight concerns regarding dated or occasionally unkempt toilet and shower blocks. Nonetheless, its family-friendly atmosphere and proximity to activities make it a popular choice for many.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely site.
Lots of families - first time camping alone with my teen so found the nearby families a comfort.
Park and toilet block very nearby so convenient spot.
Took a nice 20 minute walk to the gamston lock for some dinner.
Self check in easy.
Toilet block clean enough - what you’d expect on a busy campsite.

Disliked Shop and cafe was closed. No opening times provided. Disappointed as we intended to eat at the cafe. Luckily there was a nearby pub however if not I would’ve been caught short.
Cost a little high. £30 for one nights stay with no electric hook up.
Didn’t see any staff.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Location was good for walks.

Disliked Wooden toilet block was disgusting, all toilets were almost overflowing with human waste. Pitches were too close to others in some cases. Too many children and teens riding electric bikes around. My daughter’s nearly new tent was damaged by a child riding into it and the parents offered a bottle of beer as an apology.
Overpriced for non electric pitch not even marked out.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Nice site with decent pitches.

Disliked Unfortumately there are a few issues here. The shower and toilet facilities are too small for the size of park / nunber of pitches. Other users left them in a poor state. I went for a shower mid morning and one had a used nappy left in it and tge others were covered in mud.

This is not a place for a quiet relaxing stay, there were a lot of kids running about, ive got kids and dont have an issue with them enjoying themselves but my caravan was hit several times by a football, it appears ignorant of parents to allow tgeir kids to play next to other pitches.

Although there is a quiet policy after 9.30pm that didnt stop another camper from playing loud music at 7.30 on a Sunday morning.

Its a shame that the behaviour of a few ignorant people spoils a nice site.
