What customers say
This is a well-maintained, clean, and peaceful campsite offering spacious, level, and often fully-serviced pitches. Guests praised the spotless wet room facilities and the on-site pub/restaurant. However, several reviews highlight a lack of on-site staff for check-in and assistance, inconsistent toilet roll and soap replenishment, and issues with communication regarding the bar/restaurant's opening times. Some found the wet rooms steamy and lacked shelving, and a few noted difficulties with pitch access and gravel quality.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked The pitch was level and well-presented, with access to electricity and water. The location is lovely, with neatly cut grass and a pleasant pub/restaurant offering good value (more on this below). We appreciated receiving the gate barrier access code and directions to our allocated plot in advance via phone call.
Disliked Throughout our stay, we didn’t see a single member of staff. Reception was unattended, and although the site information mentions direct access to walking and cycling routes, there was no guidance or signage to help locate them.
Camping, caravanning, and motorhoming depend on well-managed facilities. While the shower/toilet block is modern and spacious, it was poorly maintained. The toilets were dirty, lacked toilet paper and handwash, and were not cleaned over the weekend, making them increasingly unhygienic. A message from the CEO on the toilet wall asks guests to keep the facilities clean—but surely this responsibility should be shared?
There were no washing-up facilities available.
The bar/restaurant was excellent—when it opened on Friday. However, on Saturday evening, a large group walked over expecting a meal and drinks, only to find it closed. No signage or information was provided about its operating hours or closure.
Lastly, some guests were driving far too fast around the site, despite children playing nearby. Clear signage and visible staff presence could help manage this serious safety concern—it feels like an accident waiting to happen.

Our 5th time here, never had a problem before,
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked Quiet location, spacious,
Disliked Shower/toilet block, no loo roll, not cleaned, kids running in and out of them.
Restaurant cannot cope with walk in service, 90 minutes for food.

Quiet pitch great location to local…
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked Quiet pitch great location to local amenities , lovely little pub on site to and plenty of area for the children to play.
Disliked No reception the whole time we were there!
Toilets need upgrading or at least a cleaner in there every day, we were there for 5 days and only saw the cleaner once we ended up having to take our own toilet roll to the toilet as it wasn’t restocked at all. And toilet block looked very dirty and unkept. Toilet seat was broken in couple of the wet rooms too. Showers could use an update the spray coming from the shower was poor and you never knew where to stand to get the best coverage. And maybe add a shower curtain between the toilet and shower as you cannot really get dressed in the cubicles as the shower flooded the whole floor.

Absolutely Awful Unsafe, Filthy, and No Management
Non-electric grass touring caravan pitch
Liked I can't think of anything we liked on this campsite, shouldn't be allowed to open
Disliked One of the worst campsite experiences we've ever had.
There was no manager or staff present on site during our entire stay. If anything went wrong (and a lot did), there was no one to talk to or report issues to. It felt completely unmonitored and chaotic.
The toilets were absolutely disgusting clearly hadn’t been cleaned in days. Overflowing bins, and a horrible smell. It was unacceptable, especially for a place charging money to stay.
What made things even worse was how unsafe the campsite felt. Cars were driving way too fast through the grounds, with no speed limits enforced. It was dangerous, especially for families with kids around.
We also witnessed aggressive behaviour from other campers shouting, arguing. with no security on site, there was no one to deal with it. We felt really uncomfortable and unsafe.
We will never return. Avoid this campsite at all costs.

Horrendous stay, awful free for all site, never again!!
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked Appears a nice site on arrival, but that’s where it ends!!
Disliked It’s a self check in and basically a free for all!! People still being noisy till 1:30am, using pup tents which apparently aren’t allowed, another pitch already had 4 kids with them then their friends turn up with more and are just left to do whatever they wanted! Foul language constantly being used, absolutely awful, which is a shame because it looks a nice site when you arrive. We were booked for 2 nights but packed up after 1. If there was a warden or staff on site this probably wouldn’t be like that but it’s unmanned and when you eventually get in touch with someone they aren’t bothered!! Never again!!!!

Liked Bar and restaurant were good.
Disliked Unmanned unsafe site.
Once a group gets to know the gate code all their mates can get in for nothing..we saw four sets of travelling people get in.
Toilet blocks was filthy never saw any cleaners until fourth day.
Easy access for unbooked individuals to come into site.

Too many negatives for me to recommend.
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked On-site pub & restaurant although not entirely sure this is connected to the camp site? Fantastic poplar ale and home cooked food.
Disliked From the outset, the site was difficult to gain access. There is no manned reception on site and no clear signage with contact details. In short this site is owned by ‘Coastfields’. Poplar farm & Addlethorpe golf course do not feature in the options when the displayed phone number is dialled. This lack of basic information and the fact the phone wasn’t answered for some time resulted in a period of 30+ minutes to enter the site. (Caravans behind us had the same issues)
The site lacked security with no staff present (except the occasional cleaner, which I might add did a good job of keeping the facilities clean). There was no visible CCTV and the entrance barrier code was subject to abuse with clear code sharing happening amongst groups allowing late night arrivals camping on friends pitches.
The roadways around the site are very dusty, the caravan and car were black from the dust created by passing vehicles across the 4 days.
The toilet facilities although clean, lacked water pressure. Showers were poor when multiple units were in use.
Elsan points are very basic. Human waste scattered around the points and insufficient water pressure to rinse away.
Inadequate number of bins on site. These were overflowing with waste piling up around them thus attracting vermin.
Pitch boundaries are constructed with raised timber kerbs. These are a trip hazard.
Lack of children’s facilities ie playground, resulted in Feral kids abusing the toilet facilities and ringing the fire bell was a daily occurrence.
