  • Simple rural Herefordshire site five minutes' drive from Bodenham
  • A 15-minute drive from Hereford and Leominster
  • Dog-friendly site with Saturday night campfire gatherings
For a properly laidback place to unwind outdoors, check out Kingfisher Meadow Camping and Caravanning Park, a simple site just outside Bodenham in the Herefordshire countryside. Hereford town centre is a 15-minute drive from here, with the A417 a handy two-minute drive if you’re looking to get out and about further afield. All is brilliantly set up here to help you make the most of peaceful outdoor life – there’s a sizeable pond on site for wildlife-watching and sunset-spotting, and the whole place is surrounded by quiet fields and farmland. There's also ample opportunity for strolling and cycling nearby (in the company of a canine companion if you’ve brought one along – they’re welcome on site), with both the Malvern Hills and Wye Valley within easy reach. Plenty of other day trips beckon further afield – there's a strong chance that Ludlow, Worcester, Bromyard or Ross-on-Wye will make an appearance on your list… Barbecues and campfires are allowed on site, with firepits available to hire and logs to buy. On Saturday nights there's a special campfire evening to bring the whole community together, where one and all are invited to gather round a big blaze for a sociable evening by the flames. For non-self-cooked meals, there are also a couple of country inns within a 10-minute drive, plus supermarkets over in Leominster (15 minutes).

Non-electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: The atmosphere, the friendliness, the facilities, the quirkiness of the choices of places to stay, the location and the Saturday night firepit and musical fire engine was absolutely amazing. A real community feel.

Disliked: The fact I was only there one night!

Non-electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: A lovely warm welcome from the owner on arrival who was most accommodating. Our little one loved the play area. She was there all day playing with new friends. The campfire in the night with the fire engine was so good, especially that the owner goes to so much trouble to put it on for everyone.
I loved the gated entrance and gates around the beautiful pond keeping the whole area safe for kids.
It’s a relaxed back to basics site but everything you need, clean toilets, plenty of loo roll.
Peaceful location with the sound of singing birds .
Thank you , we will be back 🥰

Disliked: Nothing

From the manager: Thank you for your kind words, great to hear you had a lovely time too! The outdoors is a great place to reconnect with nature and on a clear night the stars are amazing with no light pollution, if you are lucky you will hear the owls who have been with us for years nesting nearby ⛺️
See you again soon

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: My 8 year old daughter's opinion was that "she had the best 3 nights ever" at Kingfisher meadow!
She's usually quite reserved and doesn't venture too far away most of the time but this weekend she was off from first thing in the morning til later at night with a bunch of lovely friends she made on site.
There's child (and some adults) proof gates at the entrance to the site and into the pond area with good fences meaning no-one can wander off.
We were lucky enough to experience 2 nights of the campfire over the bank holiday weekend and it was a great community feel. Even luckier there was a guest staying who, I suspect, is going to hit the big time with his brilliant guitar playing and vocals- thanks Lewis!
There's several driving water points, a set of covered washing up sinks and a small but clean set of loos.
Thanks again guys, I suspect we will see you soon given daughter was asking when we can come back, literally as we drove out of the site!

From the manager: Such a lovely review from you, we are so happy to hear you and your daughter enjoyed your stay with us. Sometimes the simple things in life are all we need to grow and feel in tune with ourselves
......what better than being outdoors amongst Mother Nature.
Hope to see you again soon ⛺️

Local attractions

Herefordshire vodka? At the local distillery (10 minutes' drive), locally-produced potatoes are used to make a tempting alternative to the county's far-famed perry and cider. If you'd rather go with the traditional option, it's also an easy 10-minute drive to Newton Court, the closest cider mill. Once in a suitably mellow mood, head for Hereford (15 minutes), where the cathedral, Mappa Mundi exhibit and Black and White House Museum supply visitors with a bevy of family-friendly afternoons out. To stick with the historical theme, perhaps call in at the National Trust's Berrington Hall (15 minutes), a neoclassical country pile with great walks around well-kept grounds. You can't really come to this part of the world and not pass through Ludlow: with finger-licking food outlets, top-rated markets and a castle, there's something here for almost all comers. Finally, those with energy left to expend can burn it off by stomping through the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (half an hour), where conquering the peaks and valleys is sure to leave you with a sense of supreme satisfaction.
